  1. Team defense sucks, no offense to speak of. Just sad.
  2. It's a wonder it took that long for the Canes to score, eesh Petry wandering too. He went over to Rasmussen's guy for no reason, blah.
  3. Kane and Czarnik both out tonight with illnesses, ouch
  4. What a depressing streak. I fear it isn't going to get broken tonight.
  5. He was what he's always been sadly, doesn't win puck battles (doesn't even go into those areas) and defensive lapses that lead to goals for the other team. He can make some slick passes from the outside of the offensive zone and seems to see the offensive game decently, but his actual offensive output does not make up for him being both weak and unengaged when it comes to winning the puck or playing defense. I think they might be able to deal his RFA rights to a bottom half team trying to find some scoring around the draft but we'll see. He honestly seems like the perfect San Jose Shark right now.
  6. I think you're right on both counts. Petry backing away out of the zone killed a few plays the last few games where the Wings were starting to get some offensive zone pressure going. He plays like me in beer league, which is never what you want.
  7. I've been both encouraged and disappointed with Veleno's season. It looks like he's taken some steps and makes some good plays and shows some creativity. Then he has games like last night where he's mostly invisible except when running around in his own zone or giving the puck away. Overall it has been a let down I think, he's faded as the season went on and they have had to use Czarnik as the fourth line center and stick him on the wing. Hopefully he's able to take a few more steps forward to be more consistent as a NHL player. Even though I think Petry becomes a bit of a whipping boy, I still am ready for him to go. I am guessing a lot of it stems from his age and not being able to make plays quick enough that he's used to making, but he really loves putting himself out of position at the weirdest times. He makes some baffling challenges, it is probably a net "positive" in that it works more often than not to challenge puck carriers like he does, but when it doesn't work he's way out of position at the worst times so...not great. Theoretically he should be a great partner for Edvinsson right now who seems to have brain farts in his own zone from time to time (guessing this is why Ed has been in GR to figure it out) but something happens and Petry is in the corner or something random doing god knows what.
  8. Holy crap Lindgren made so many good saves but Perron puts it in finally! This kid in net for Washington is playing like a mad man.
  9. Not Edvinsson's best period here, some giveaways and an ill advised icing. But then you see him skating with the puck in the open ice or making a good pinch and it is all forgotten 😆 Nice to be able to watch the game a bit here, work and life has been crazy lately, so little time for hockey for me sadly
  10. Not a great game for the fourth line so far, seems like they're hemmed in the Wings' zone a lot of the time they're on the ice.
  11. I was going to try the 3 Body Problem since I started reading the book, but then I saw it is those chuckle****s from GoT running it so it will be a pass from me unless I really run out of stuff to watch.
  12. I imagine the org would rather have Cossa in GR for their playoff run
  13. Pretty exciting stuff, especially for a 7th rounder drafted in 2023. It will be interesting to see him playing with higher level of talent. We saw with Danielson how that helped point production.
  14. That's his total hit but he has salary retention from two teams
  15. Where did I say the fans should cheer no matter what? Do you think they players are trying to lose? Once again, what would it accomplish? I guess if hearing the booing makes you feel better that is nice for you, I just don't see the point of doing it let alone making up a scenario in your head before the game where it should happen. Seems like a miserable way to live, but that's just me. I hope you get what you want because you're apparently pretty worked up about it.
  16. Well it was nice to have playoff hopes for a bit this season I guess
  17. Shogun and Masters of the Air are two fantastic shows going right now, really enjoying them.
  18. Ya this ended up being a complete nothing of a transaction. They got both for absolutely nothing, so the price of trying out Kostin with the lineup was Yamamoto's buyout for $433k this season and $533k next season. Not a bad gamble but a shame Kostin didn't look good in Detroit.
  19. Just clearing out Kostin's $2 million due next season (he has been a big disappointment in my eyes so it is fine with me, he seems like he thinks he's better than he is when he has the puck). Whether it is clearing space for now or the offseason who knows.
  20. I think that’s it for me for the night, I would probably stick around if I wasn’t stuck with the TNT team. They rightfully are gushing about the Avs but it’s too much for me.
