If Cabrera is playing for marketing reasons, then I would imagine fans are also excited about seeing Verlander and Scherzer. Most fans are a lot different from people here. Personally, I still like seeing Verlander and Scherzer, but wouldn't enjoy seeing them beat the Tigers.

It seems that most people wanted a balanced schedule because they got sick of seeing the same teams all the time. Be careful what you wish for!

That's what they woud tell you for sure. Some of them might not believe it, but I think most of them do. You always hear players talking about how they pick the brains of star players to learn about the game.

Sununu has been very critical of Trump on many occasions including calling him "****ing crazy". If the interview went down as you said, it sounds like a political was of saying he doesn't want Trump to be president.

yes, I have thought about this a lot. He has gone from being someone on a Hank Aaron/Frank Robinson career path to being Jim Thome/Reggie Jackson. It's still great company and a great career, but not quite the same. It's probably not a big deal to most fans, but for someone who loves the history of the game and likes to compare the greats from different eras, it's somewhat disappointing.

He didn't win largely because of his association with Covid. If Covid never happened, I believe he'd be President now. Most people are disgusted with Trump personally, but might think there are economic benefits to his being president. I remembers polls during his presidency showing that even a fairly large percentage of independents though he did a good job on the economy. I don't think Presidents impact the economy much, but it doesn't matter what I think.

The only tolerable Republican who has been mentioned as a possible presidential candidate is Governor Sununu of NH. He is very middle of the road. His state also handled Covid about as well as any state. They were pretty strict and had low incidence and death rates despite bordering Massachusetts which was ravaged by Covid. I also loved his line about Trump: "He is not crazy enough where he would be sent to a mental institution, but if he gets in there, he's not getting out." On the negative side, NH has some of the most lenient gun laws in the country.

Musk could absolutely win if he were eligibile. Trump even more so. Triump made a fool of himself for 4 years and still got a huge number number of votes in 2020. He could also win again and I don't get the general feeling here that he couldn't. Maybe my faith in humanity is not strong enough.

We have statcast numbers now too which go beyond the boxscore, although sometimes they get over used. I agree that at some point they need good box score results or they just won't be good hitters.

I think criticism of and concern about Greene and Torkelson are warranted. Greene was OK for a rookie last year, but is bad so far this year. Torkelson has not gotten results either year. Sure, he hits the ball hard, but until he starts getting results, it is concerning.

Yes, the 9 players in the line-up all have a good chance to make significanr contributions beyond in the future. The other four really don't.

Seriously, not hearing about him every five minutes is the best part of his presidency to me.

When the starting pitcher doesn't pitch enough innings. they usually give the win to the next guy if he keeps the lead. However, they don't have to do so. It's a scorer's decision. I'd like to know how often it happens that way though because it seems pretty rare.

If inflation doesn't come down enough and we get a worse than expected recession, Biden will be blamed for it and he could be in trouble. They won't stay home because he's too old though. Educated women and young people hate Trump like no candidate ever.
