  1. I will only be important for a few hours though.
  2. I agree with the bill that says TDS should be classified as a mental illness. I probably disagree with him on whch people have the illness though.
  3. This is very odd. It looked deliberate, but then her arm kept flailing afer she hit her (even after she dropped the baton) and then she stopped running. My guess is she wanted to hit her to throw her off stride (which is of course very wrong) and then realized she hit her a lot harder than she had intended.
  4. They are not going go 54-28 with him in the line-up again, but I agree they really need him healthy. He is probably going to be 3-4 wins beter than his replacement and, given where they are at, that could very well be the difference between making the playoffs and going home.
  5. It's definitely about timing. I made pretty much all my money in the last 15 years and have very little to show prior to that. On the other hand, if you are a passive investor like most people including me for the most part, trying to time the market will proably hurt you.
  6. I prefer to call it "The Party"
  7. Maybe next year they should try not losing 13 games and losing to a 16th seed in the conference tournament.
  8. I've been fortunate enough in life where no previous adminisration affected me much either positively or negatively. This is the first administration which is affecting me directly and it's all negative.
  9. "They own this ****ing place. It's a big club and you aint in it. You and I are not in the big club."
  10. That is basically what I have followed since I read it 16 years ago. At 62, I am now investing more conservatively. I should have a pretty good retirement in place if I stay reasonably healthy and I don't want to blow it.
  11. I did that in January, and kind of I wish I moved more. I hate trying to time things, but at my age I need to invest more conservatively
  12. Staying primarily in US stocks has been a great move the last 15 years. It's hard to know what happens next. I am guessing there is going to be turbulence for a while.
  13. My first day in the Vanguard Total International Stock Fund (VITSX) was a good one (+1.78%). With all the uncertaintly in the US now, I decided to allocate a portion of my retiremet money to an international fund.
  14. I don't know anything about economics, so I don't know. It does seem to be pretty stupid to be making drastic changes to an economy which is already doing pretty well. I think the odds are not good.
  15. "Trump has a Plan to Remake the Economy, But He is Not Explainng it Very Well" That's because he is a moron. He has no plan and nobody knows how it will end up. He just knows that he'll make money off it and he'll blame everybody else if it turns out bad.
  16. Great points. One of your best comments ever.
  17. I think most of increased longevity has to do with medical advances (which are also in jeopardy under this administration) and lifestyle changes (such as less smoking). Work place safety (also in jeopardy if de-regulation goes too far) plays a role too.
  18. Most of them could. The media loves Trump. They can't get enough of him.
  19. I couldn't remember Andy Ibanez's name the other day.
  20. As soon as the season starts, I expect us to find out that Spring training performance means practically nothing just like every year.
  21. I could not tell the difference between Rizzs and Rathbun. I didn't know that about Ott. Ott and the Tigers is a strange marraige.
  22. I think Trump approval polls have stayed remarkably consistent over time. People decided early on that they either love him or hate him and not many have budged.
  23. I don't know. He logically concluded that Trump = BRAINLESS, GREEDY ****ING MORON.
  24. One would think that a programmer/statistician could work forever, but sitting in a chair and typing all day long can take a toll on your body. Worse than that though, you begin to lose it mentally. In my case, I can still get my work done, but it's more difficult to focus and concentrate. Getting back into teaching the last few years has helped give me a break from sitting in the chair all day. It also does not take as much concentration and working with younger people is energizing. Doing both does add up to a lot of hours though! I stll think I can make it until 70 if our university does not get destroyed by budget cuts.
