  1. I always thought Caldwell was the type who would get the baseline out of his players. Seldom more, never less. Is that good enough to win a championship? Well if Peyton Manning is your QB, it’ll get you awfully close. He’d probably do pretty well with the Lions current roster. On the 2019 Lions though it wasn’t going to be good enough unless we found a hell of a lot better GM than Martin Mayhew or Bob Quinn. That was unrealistic, and Caldwell was not going to inspire us to win games where the other team wanted it more (e.g., Bengals). Or to win 11 games with a 8/9 win roster. So, he needed to go. Campbell OTOH is the type who can take a guy like Malcolm Rodriguez or Christian Mahogany, taken in the 6th round as fringe NFL talent, and make them play to the best of their ability every single game. Make them improve into starters. Campbell will turn a 1-16 roster into a 3-13-1 result; a 6-11 roster into 9-8; 10-7 into 12-5; and 12-5 into 15-2. With Campbell, the baseline isn’t good enough.
  2. FIFTEEN runners left on base in a playoff game. ONE earned run in two playoff games. I would say it's unbelievable but I've seen enough in the last six months to know it's not just believable, but to be expected.
  3. Imagine having the capability of doing something with a middle-middle fastball. Couldn't be us.
  4. My memory of Bengals games is the Christmas Eve loss to the Marvin Lewis led Bungals in 2017. Lions came in 8-6 absolutely needing a win to put themselves in playoff position. Bungals had already bungled the season, came in at 5-9. So naturally the Lions lost 26-17. It was my last straw on Jim Caldwell.
  5. Win or lose, they don't deserve to win. Too many left on base, asking too much of your pitching. Just like most of the last 163 games.
  6. Fouling off these middle-middle mid-90s fastballs is infuriating.
  7. Make him swing at pitches out of the zone and strikeouts will happen.
  8. This is it here. Absolutely have to capitalize and not look back.
  9. Feels like we need a home run.
  10. The aggressive base running is good, but it has to be across the board. If Dingler is sprinting home, he beats the play at 3rd. He let up when the throw wasn't coming home.
  11. I'm like 60% sure he was out. But why have replay options of "overturned," "stands," and "confirmed" if we are just going to look at all replays as if we are the calling official? It's not family feud "survey says." That wasn't definitive.
  12. It's what drives me crazy about replay. Completely game, potentially series, changing call because a dude watching a TV was pretty sure enough the right hand was millimeters above 3rd base when the tag was applied.
  13. Naturally. Both pieces of that should have stood, but ESPN needs those 2pm ratings.
  14. Replays that take longer than 60 seconds should stand. Stop putting dust under a microscope.
  15. Let's go!! I forgive 20% of his god awful strikeouts.
  16. I will forgive Javy for like 60% of his swinging strike 3s on sliders out of the zone for a home run here.
  17. Strike this punk out and ruin ESPN's narrative.
  18. Well there's always tomorrow.
  19. Blown opportunity there, but at least they made him throw 24 pitches.
  20. The tickets include instructions to wear either black or orange. Their plan was to make it a stripe out. The stripes are going to have blotches of honolulu blue chicken pox.
  21. This all super intelligent and probably right, but did you consider they may want to make Bert happy because now it matters more?
  22. As long as he doesn't ever get called for hands to the face against Green Bay on MNF, I like the signing.
