With Skub going 2&5, you're putting all the pressure on the Mariners out of the gate in game one. We may be throwing a Hinch-trademarked chaos day, but the Mariners have to approach that game, fresh off nearly a week of rest, as if it's game two and they're down a game. If the Ms lose game one and know they have two Skubal starts remaining? They're on their heels, just in need of a knock out punch. (Not that they'll wave the white flag in game 2 regardless. But I like the strategy even if Skubal could go 1&4 on regular rest).

This is what I would have assumed to be the case as well. Even in the modern age, four days rest is the norm. The minimum maybe, but the norm.

I think Campbell has embraced it too. Whether it's the funny bits on McAfee about watching the wave while we threw the ball to Penei and making the wrong call on a fake punt, or wearing the race car helmet to a press conference, or the funny moments in many other press conferences. He's perfectly okay being thought of as the dumdum behind the scenes, while behind closed doors I think he's just as involved in offensive game planning and scheming as Johnson, now Morton.

Funny enough, I think people do still question his intellect. I think that's what led into both the narrative of how amazing Ben Johnson was and how big of a step back the Lions were supposed to take this year without him and Glenn. "It couldn't be Campbell who is doing so much great work with the Lions, it must have been the coordinators!"

With it not being a season ending injury, I doubt they do anything substantial. Certainly not sending away significant draft capital. What do you do with Arnold, Reed, and Stingley in 2026? I'm definitely not ready to give up on Arnold. If you're looking at four weeks for Reed, that's Browning, Mahomes, Mayfield, and McCarthy/Wentz, followed by the Bye Week. Obviously Mahomes and Mayfield can burn us in the air, but I don't foresee any addition being able to counter those two in time anyway. I think we are probably going to be better off just going next man up until Reed can return.

Honestly with that one, I doubt he knew or realized real time. Unless someone in the booth told him, he wouldn't have seen it from the sideline. Even the broadcasters didn't realize it until later their on-call official brought it up. Granted, it's not like he was ever particularly emotional on the sideline.

I feel like Burrow running the offense from a wheelchair in shotgun formation could have better results.
