  1. My love/hate relationship with SGs took a huge twist recently. I love they way they look and I’ve had a few that the necks were just right but something didn’t click. I’ve owned around five of them and I’ve loved them….until I didn’t. i had this pair last year and traded one and sold the other. The one on the right came back to me in a trade. It’s so loud acoustically and fits me perfectly. Within a day I knew I had to sell it because I didn’t want to replace the pickups, (which were hot garbage) and take away it being in original condition (especially because the boutique pickups I like are around $300 for the set). So up for sale it went until I got the bright idea to replace the magnets. I put an Alnico 2 in the bridge and an alnico 5 in the neck. It’s a brand new guitar now and I can’t put it down. Apparently my ears hate ceramic magnets.
  2. Is that a CE, SE or American? PRS guitars are funny animals for me. So many of them have that v shaped neck and it doesn't feel comfortable in my hand. My ears and eyes love them though.
  3. Beautiful. Nothing wrong with a blue guitar ever.
  4. And if he has the reissues too....
  5. I haven't, unfortunately. I feared it would be a watered down product but now I think I have to go see them.
  6. Think about Porky's. Hilarious movie and the shower scene is high school girls. Yet no one batted an eye.
  7. The Who. Went to see a Who tribute band from the Detroit area called "Live The Who" and they were absolutely 100% the best tribute band I've ever seen/heard. I was blown away by how good they are and it really made me reappreciate the catalog of music and the musicianship of the band. Townsend is such a raw emotional player and this dude captured it perfectly.
  8. Ruth Ann Moorehouse. Her dad encouraged her to go with Charles Manson when she was 14.
  9. Well, here's the guy who sang it for reference..
  10. Josh Lewin and Wimpy. Still my all time favorite tv duo.
  11. Heard one this morning: Benny Mardones - Into the Night She's just 16 years old Leave her alone they say...
  12. I'd join but then I'd end up whooping on @MotownWebGuy and he'd feel bad so I'll pass to spare him the agony.
  13. It is rare for me to like country music but I appreciate the basic honesty of this song.
  14. My neighbors granddaughter is 14 and looks like she is 23. She races dune buggies (so she drives well) and I can see how an adult male could be visually fooled. That is, until she talks....a 14 year old, no matter how they look, will expose their true age when they speak more that 30 words. No adult male would be fooled unless they want to be fooled.
  15. That's fair. He used to drive me batty but I grew to appreciate him and it became obvious that he and Dan really enjoyed each other's company.
  16. I'll take "things beyond my comprehension" for 200 Alex. 🙂
  17. The nicest man I have ever met. I've shared the story many times around these parts but at the 2006 ALDS game (Bonderman game), Philpott and I were hanging down near the batting cage behind the net. He came over and just chatted with us for a good ten minutes. He was just incredibly happy to engage with us.
  18. We can leave politics in the garbage dump.
  19. I despised him and Ozzie during the mid-2000's but in hindsight I get it. Baseball needs characters like them.
  20. Mr. Paulson preferred to have Meat and Loaf separated thank you very much 😝
  21. No one eliminates the click....things would go south fast! The voice guide is optional only for the leader to remove depending on if we're sticking to the original version or if we want to go off the path and shorten/extend any song. ETA: in that video you'll notice that the guy (guitarist) whose IEM we are listening to doesn't have any drums in his mix. I might add a little snare but the click really keeps things in time.
  22. There is a musical director (MD) who has a mic only the musicians can hear and there is the voice built into the tracks which can be switched on and off so you nailed it. Depending on who is playing any Sunday, the MD either has to talk a lot or very little. We have iPads with our sheet music and an app to control our mix. I'll try to grab a picture next time I play to show you what it's like. For my mix, the click track, lead vocalists and MD are high up while everyone else is down. Fun fact: we get the songs on Tuesday or Wednesday and then have to learn our parts on our own. Sometimes they're songs we've played before so that's easy because I already have the notes on the ipad (and hopefully am assigned the same EG part - we have two EG parts which are always different from each other for layering). We show up at 8:30 Sunday morning, play the set once and then go live at 9:30 and again at 11:15. No rehearsal other than that. Know your parts, follow the click and the MD direction. Pack it up...go home. I'm not tooting my horn when I say this but not just anyone can do that.
