  1. This is lose to how I feel. I think we're a better team than we were against Green Bay in week one as evidenced by last weeks game. Sometimes we look really good against running and mobile QBs, as we did last week or when we beat the Chiefs two years ago. Sometimes we look completely out of sync and get run over as we did against Baltimore or in the Buffalo game last year. If this was at Ford Field I would feel more confident. It's at Baltimore and I think they're going to win. If they lose, but keep it close throughout, there is no shame or harm in losing a competitive game to one of the NFL's 3-4 best teams. I do hope the Lions prove those of us predicting a loss wrong though and come out with a big win.
  2. Gavin Newsom should get someone in the California legislature to propose a Fred Hampton statue at every California school and see how MAGA reacts.
  3. I'm quite surprised by the lack of success Wisconsin has had with Fickell. The guy had multiple, double-digit win seasons at Cincinnati. He recruited NFL talent at multiple positions, across multiple seasons. He just hasn't put together great recruiting classes yet, nor done anything noteworthy on the field. He seems stuck in neutral at Wisconsin.
  4. There just might be hope for Michigan football this year after all. I thought they look good today on both sides of the ball. The hail mary BS aside, their defense looked really good. The front 7 was aggressive and attacked with a pass rush that got home all day. I hadn't realized we were up to 7 sacks today, so damn impressive outing by the front 7. Maybe it turns out that Nebraska just isn't that good in the end. But this felt luke a big win for Michigan. A win that sends a statement to others in the Big Ten that we've got a good team that you'll need to respect and take seriously. If I'm Ryan Day I'm certainly dropping a few F bombs and am worried now. You couldn't beat Michigan when they were limping around last year, watch out this year.
  5. There's always a level of satisfaction since we've finally become a good team in knowing the Bears are now both worse then us and the worst team in the NFC North. They truly are the Meg Griffin of the North.
  6. I felt this way sort of too because I don't expect us to win next week. It'd be incredible to pull off the upset, but I have no expectation we will. I'm most happy that the offensive line looked better and they got back to their identity and ran the ball. They averaged 5.9 ypc, had 177 total rushing yards, and 2 TDs. The blocking looked more in sync and plays had time to develop today without getting blown up in the backfield or at the line.
  7. I get that the Bears are a bad team yet again this season, but I think most of my concerns were addressed with today's clowning of the Bears. The offensive line looked a lot better today and that was a big relief.
  8. Yes, I think so by the backside angle they are showing.
  9. Who Branch was covering there? He certainly wasn't blitzing Williams. They left Odunze wide open to walk in.
  10. You got that right!
  11. Most fans probably. He's played 3 full games in 2 years.
  12. Caleb Williams looks terrible out there. Whatever was wrong last season, Ben Johnson hasn't fixed yet.
  13. I wondered the same thing haha. Unless we added a player I didn't know about and Brian Branch changed his number.
  14. Fumble, Branch knocks it away and creates the turnover.
  15. Don't worry, we were told Davenport would be suffice.
  16. Whatever nice things I just said about the offense, I won't be saying about the defense lol.
  17. Loved that opening drive by the Lions offense. They controlled the line of scrimmage and ran the ball really well there.
  18. First play and it's a big time play by Goff and St. Brown.
  19. Communication and talent are two different things obviously, with two very different solutions. If it is simply communication issues they were having last week, those are problems that can be cleaned up in practice. Communications issues get correct as they learn Morton's playbook more, understand the blocking schemes needed for his play designs, etc. If it is a talent problem, those cannot be quickly corrected in practice and may need to be corrected outside the organization. When I say a talent problem I'm specifically talking about Graham Glasgow's play from last week and parts of last season. I'm talking about him being washed and just not that good anymore; a guy who is 33 year years old and is on the downside of his NFL career. Does he now lack the speed, power, foot quickness, and more that he had at the beginning of his career? If so, I don't see how an offensive line is successful if the guy tasked with getting your QB both a clean snap and a clean block up the middle is washed and can't hold protection for Goff. I have some worry about Christian Mahogany not being as good overall as we thought he might be coming out of last season and going into the offseason. I'm certainly willing to give Mahogany more time to display his talent, gel with his linemates, learn the playbook, and so forth. I'm not really that worried about him just yet. I'm also not as worried about a rookie in Tate Ratledge, because I think the talent was on display as a college player in the very best conference in SEC. But if Glasglow is truly a problem all season long and can't correct the issues he had last week, I think that will have a downward effect on the rest of this line. It will effect our running game most of all, which effects our ability, Goff's ability, to be successful elsewhere, since we are such a run focused offense, that includes tons of play action and motion-based disguises.
  20. Did Biffe call plays today because the playcalling was great and the offense fired on all cylinders. Their downfall passing attack looked really good and Underwood looked like a #1 recruit.
  21. Code word, we can't do anything or run government departments because DOGE fired too many people. Oooopppsss!
  22. Well, Underwood tried throwing a pick on his very first throw of the game. Luckily CMU dropped a gifted INT and we ended up scoring on the drive.
