  1. He's trending fast into bust territory fast. He gets beat often, is handsy, and never plays the ball.
  2. Wow, this secondary turned Joe Flacco into prime Dan Marino on that drive.
  3. We're getting carved up by . . . JOE FLACCO? WTF!!!!!
  4. What an awful tragedy. My heart goes out to these people and their families. We're constantly told more guns in society makes us safer. There are an estimated 500 million civilian owned firearms in the US. At what point or at what total number of guns do we need to be at to be fully safe and secure? Is it 600 million guns? 700 million guns? A billion guns? Should everyone have a concealed weapon on them, in every situation? What about ex-military at churches? We're told by Republicans that one of the solutions for stopping or preventing school shootings is to have ex-military members at schools safeguarding our kids and staff. What about churches now. Should we have ex-military members at every church?
  5. RIP to former Detroit TV sportscaster and announcer Ray Lane.
  6. I go back to Johnson's call of Jack Sawyer interception at the goal line against Michigan as one of the best examples of how bad and obnoxious Gus can be.
  7. The way he creams himself saying THE O-HI-YO STATE UN-I-VERSITY really drives me nuts. It just sounds bad for one. It also makes him sound like he's in the bag for them too.
  8. Appalling behavior with the heckling. This isn't baseball, this is golf. The American fans treatment of the Europeans has been disgraceful.
  9. Good for you Shane Lowry. The American fans heckling has been uncalled for. This is golf, not baseball. This is supposed to be friendly between the nations. I for one am happy to see Team USA get obliterated.
  10. The Tigers do the Trump dance, in front of Trump, and they lose. The Trump team brags about USA hockey and they lose. Trump shows up at the Ryder Cup and Team USA is getting obliterated so far by Team Europe. When you associate with losers, you lose. Hahahahaha!
  11. I love seeing the Americans get their ass kicked in the Ryder Cup. I also love seeing us lose earlier in the year in hockey to Team Canada. Why, because **** Trump!
  12. JESUS ****ING H. CHRIST!!!
  13. Yzerman and McLellan have big choices to make. If they believe that this roster as constructed is a legit playoff roster, then I think it remains largely the same. That means you'll see less of ASP, Cossa, Danielson, Finnie, MBN, Wallinder the younger players and more of Appleton, Compher, Holl, Talbot, the veteran guys. You may, at some point, see some of the younger kids brought into the fold, but I wouldn't expect any of the younger guy, sans maybe Mazur, to see significant minutes per game. If they believe this roster is not ready for a playoff run, I think they should be making changes to this roster in the form of callups. If the believe that this team either won't make the playoffs at all or would get bounced quickly and decisively if they did, changes must be made. What's the point of missing the playoffs yet again with guys like Appleton, Compher or Holl taking up significant ice time over young guys who could use NHL minutes? What is this organization gaining by having a kid who is mostly or all the way ready being stuck in the AHL, when they could use the valuable experience of playing with NHL competition and speed? How are we developing organizationally and how are these players developing individually if we won't give our guys NHL ice time? I certainly don't want a young player being called up for the sake of it. They have to be ready, at some level, for their call up. I would not want to call a young player up and watch him immediately fail miserably. But if the young guys are playing well in Grand Rapids and the veteran players up on the NHL roster are underperforming, but still holding these guys back from getting called up, then I'll be upset. We all should be if that's the case. However, I don't believe this situation will be as bad as it was under Ken Holland. In 2012 Ken Holland had Nyquist in the AHL at 24 years old and Tomas Tatar in the press box at 23 years old, to start the season. That was absurd and ridiculous. All so he could play guys who were washed like Dan Cleary and Mikael Samuelsson, who he kept on bringing back to the organization. I don't think Yzerman is that dense or dumb about when to play younger guys. He's already given some of his younger talent a chance to play significant minutes in the NHL and be foundational pieces for this team. I hope to see Danielson, Finne, MBN, and Wallinder specifically, sooner rather than later. I would be OK-ish with them waiting and taking more time with ASP and Cossa.
  14. As Ken Holland said, kid's aren't the answer, this is a men's league. Ben Chairot, JT Compher, Justin Holl are men.
  15. He literally helped get him elected when he reopened the email scandal. He should literally be thanking him, not indicting him. If you look at Hillary's poll numbers after Comey reopened the investigation in 2016, you can see just enough of a drop off where she was effected by it.
  16. Yeah, so in 2020 we had a candidate who literally had dozens and dozens of very detailed, very specific policy proposals on how to fix this country and improve life for the average, working-class person and their family. From climate action to healthcare to housing to infrastructure to transit this person laid it all out on the line. In-fact, this person's campaign slogan was quite literally "I have a plan for that". Instead, America rejected her as too academic, too liberal, too wonky, and too unlikable.
  17. The Big Buck is still the winningest coach in Lions history in-terms of overall number of wins. Not for long I would imagine with the pace Campbell is on. Truly incredible that a guy as terrible as Fontes has the most wins in our franchise's history. I think the Run & Shoot offense, under a better coach with a real QB, with the weapons we had in the 1990s (Barry, Herm, Perriman, Morton) would have been an explosive offense. It would have been the greatest show on turf before the Rams were a thing. Oh well!
  18. I for sure had (maybe still have) PTSOL that causes me to lean more negative. I've always loved the Lions and have never rooted for anyone else. They have been my team, even when I am negative and down on them. After being burnt so many times as a fan, with so many false promises and crazy moments that you'd have to see to believe, it is hard to stay loyal. However, we all did just that. It's just that some of us, even though we were loyal, turned into habitual naysayers and negative fans. When you're an overly negative, glass half empty fan, people will look at you and wonder why are you even still a fan. People even make comments to us naysayers about finding a new team to root for and to stop watching the Lions. But it's because we care so much and invest so much time and emotional energy into this team that we are so passionately negative. Unless there was a strategic reason for tanking or getting a coach/GM fired, it's not as if those of us negative fans (T&P, myself, others on the negative end) wished for the Lions to lose week in and week out. It's just that I think we refused to keep being homers. We refused to believe they were actually, sustainably good, until they could prove it for a full season or more. The constant negativity we feed ourselves turns us into cynics and skeptics sometimes. Now, I've made an earnest effort to grow and mature beyond the fan I was. To recognize and celebrate the great things this franchise has been doing the last 3 years To actually just shut up and have fun when watching the Lions play. The person who spent years hating on Matt Stafford and wishing he would get traded so the Lions could rebuild is largely gone. But I still have lingering bouts of PTSOL and in games like the one against Baltimore, it makes me assume they will lose. Every dominate Lions performance, like they had on Monday Night, causes me to feel a little bit more reassured with each and every win.
  19. The other key difference between Jimmy Kimmel and Donald Trump is that to my knowledge, Jimmy Kimmel did not insight violence. Nor did Jimmy Kimmel attempt a violent coup d'etat to stay in power in an elected, public office on January 6th. Nor did Jimmy Kimmel violet any oath of office to uphold the Constitution. Nor did Jimmy Kimmel attempt to appoint or support appointing fake Electors in a scheme to thwart the Electoral Count Act. Nor did Jimmy Kimmel encourage people to go to the US Capitol building to physically try and stop the electoral vote process from occurring. Trump's attempts to insight violence and his attempts at a coup d'etat to stay in power were primary reasons he was canceled off of social media I do believe. I believe his bans on Facebook and Twitter came after January 6th's attempted insurrection and coup d'etat, did they not?
  20. RIP to former Bengals and Lions RB Ridi Johnson. Far too young to pass away.
  21. I've tried over the last few years to be a more glass half full fan and it is tough. It is especially tough with the Lions because they have almost no history in my lifetime of being any good. So I can't say I am a positive fan by any means when it comes to the Lions, but I am trying to be. I am trying to give them the benefit of the doubt and believe they're going to be the ones who come in, punch the other team in the mouth, and win it.
  22. Before this game people did not have the Lions in the conversation with Buffalo and Baltimore as the best teams in the league. Well we are now. That was a statement win that says we belong with the very best in the league. We looked like the best team in the NFL tonight for sure.
