Michigan Football 2024 aka The Year Michigan has to Defend a Natty
Mr.TaterSalad replied to romad1's topic in College Sports
Yes. I spent 2 years trying to run him out of town and would love to have him back now. Moore looks in over his head. I don't see how this gets better anytime soon. -

This is not a good team at all. They're going to lose every game they play against a ranked opponent. -

This offense sucks. Amazing with all the good QBs that were out there in the transfer portal that we're starting John O'Korn's younger brother at QB. I would have brought Cade McNamara back over Davis Warren Hopefully this kid develops as a player as the year progresses and gets more comfortable out there. -
You and I both know if we're being intellectually honest that Cheney, Bush, Rumsfeld, Rice, Brehmer, Wolfowitz, etc. should have been tried in an international criminal tribunal for war crimes, for doctored intelligence, and the use of torture against other human beings. Not only the WMD marketing either, but they actively told us that Saddam was intent on and in the process of developing a nuclear weapons program to become a world nuclear power. They said with certainty that those famous aluminum and metallic tubes were undoubtedly going to be used for nuclear weapons. They hyped up Saddam building a nuclear weapon with yellowcake uranium from Niger. They warned of a dirty bomb going off in a major American city. They also fabricated Saddam's ties to Al Qaeda, Bin Laden and 9/11. They tried to imply that Saddam had some role in 9/11 and an affiliation with Bin Laden. All lies! There are plenty of effective avenues to win this election without Cheney or Bush supporting Harris.

This is far bigger than agreeing and disagreeing on where we stand on Issues A or B. Cheney sanctioned mass murder of people based on fabrications and lies. He sanctioned the brutal use of torture on other human beings like water boarding, using aggressive dogs towards people, and other methods. Ironically too, he's undemocratic like Trump is. Remember, Cheney tried to usurp the legislative branch of government and our system of checks and balances by pushing the Unitary Executive Theory while in the White House.

Lying your way into a war that killed over 4,000 American servicemembers and hundreds-of-thousands of Iraqi civilians and caused upheaval in the Middle East is pretty darn evil. There isn't much more evil in this world than the horrors of war. Were that war a legitimate action, needed to save human beings from extermination or to liberate an entire continent or free people from bondage like WW2 or The Civil War, it would be a different story. But Iraq and Saddam Hussein were no threat to the Untied States or any of our western or eastern allies. And while Saddam was himself a brutal tyrant and dictator, we can't be in the business of policing the world and removing every dictator from power. We certainly shouldn't be doing it so a company that the Vice President of the United States is affiliated with can get no-bid contracts to work on the oil fields in that country. The case for that war was all built on lies, fabrications, and doctored intelligence. Cheney had a huge hand in creating and promoting those lies to get us into a war in Iraq. So again, it's ironic that Cheney would be condemning someone else for lying to their supporters when he and Bush lied to an entire nation.

Mother Jones: Lie by Lie: A Timeline of How We Got Into Iraq The irony of Haliburton Cheney speaking out against someone who lies to their supporters is quite rich. Haliburton Cheney literally lied all the time to get us into a war in Iraq so the company he was affiliated with could get no-bid contracts to work on the oilfields in Iraq. I hate Trump and want to see him defeated and sent to the dustbin of history. But I refuse to let history be whitewashed over and forget about what Haliburton Cheney and DubyaMD did to get us into the Iraq War and repercussions of their lies.

I don't like the Packers one bit, but I don't wish any of their players ill will at all. I hope it's nothing serious for Jordan Love and that he's not out for the entire season or an extended amount of time. I want to play Green Bay at their very best, so it's unfortunate to see Love potentially sustain a serious injury like this.

This is ****ing ridiculous, there's been a flag on seemingly every other play. Flags are killing what would otherwise be a good game.
-
So I've made the decision, for now, to bench Ja'Marr Chase this week in fantasy. I'm starting Jayden Reed over Chase this week. As a result, I am going to have to bench Burrow for Jordan Love as well because Chase will possibly be out and Tee Higgins is doubtful as well.

Robert Goulet's son in the front row laughing at the women is great.

Long as he doesn't give Max a Kenny deal with 5 @ $6.5 lol. I don't want him taking up a roster spot though from a kid like Mazur. -
Found a new country artist to check out thanks to savingcountrymusic.com named Rich Henderson. He's got a new album out called Alive in Alabama. So far, I've listened to only the song below off the album called Time Well Spent. I'm liking what I'm hearing thus far. Sounds like a solidly traditional country artist singing a well written song that tells a story we can all relate to.

You know Campbell would be going for the win there in that situation as well. No way would he have settled for the tie and OT. -

Damn, what a finish and what a great game. That was the right call though. Jackson had Zay Flowers wide open but just missed him on the previous play. -

Let me get this straight. Jameson William gets suspended for multiple games due to placing a non-football bet in an unapproved facility. Josh Gordon smoked a doobie and did no other harm to anyone that we know of and gets suspend for a season. But Rashee Rice can allegedly injure people due to street racing with his friends, allegedly commit a felony offence, and still play? -

Patrick Mahomes oversized helmet bothers me and I don't know why. It's his helmet, so as long as it protects him, he can wear it as big as he wants. But he has to wear one of the largest helmets in the league. -
What's everyone's predictions for Jaemo this year? Will he have a 1,000 yards or more receiving? Will he have more than 5 receiving TDs?

I will not be cheering on or rooting for Stat Padford. I wanted him gone and so he is. I'll be cheering on our Lions on Sunday night and hoping Stad Padford throws a pick six. -
Gun safety reforms are needed to protect people in Chicago, schools in Georgia, and all across the country. This shooting still falls at the feet of the gun nuts.

No, but they are protesting for an end to this war and they do recognize Bibi is trying to use it to prop himself up politically.

I drafted LaPorta in the third round of my league after another TE was taken before him. Worked out for me.

Red Wings 2024 Off-Season Thread

I think he's baked. He hasn't played a full season in nearly 4 years now. He's had all of 26 total points in each of the past two seasons. Signing Max Pacioretty reeks of a Ken Holland, we love our veteran players, type of move. If you bring Pacioretty that almost assures Mazur will end up in Grand Rapids again for most of the season. I'm giving Mazur a shot before bringing him in. -

This will be his first season where he is actually healthy and ready to start game one. I can't imagine him getting the start or more snaps than Reader unless they wanted to ease the injured Reader in for week one. -
So I drafted Ja'Marr Chase in the first round of my fantasy league. On a scale of one to Le'Veon Bell how worried should I be? He wouldn't hold out and miss actual games, let alone the entire season. Right? RIIIGGGHHHGTTT???
