  1. Also, to her credit, you are starting to see some of this class conscious campaigning from Harris herself. Branding herself as the middle class candidate, saying she's taken on big business and Wall Street as an AG, showcasing that Trump only cares about wealthy people like him. More of that type of campaigning please!
  2. Didn't AOC beat a long time Democratic congressman in a primary election specifically by making class consciousness a big part of her messaging and campaigning? Republicans have made economics a cultural issue. Democrats can too. We can have both abortion and economics as cultural wars to fight on one day, way down the line. I see nothing wrong with demagoguing rich people and big business. After all, that just factually is the reason for much of people's plight and misery. When your job doesn't pay you a living wage and you have to get a second one. When your employer can fire you at will, with little to no protections for the average worker. When your CEO makes 300-400x what their average worker at your company is making, that's a huge problem. When big businesses are reporting record profits and your paying more at the grocery store, more for a car, more for a house, more on rent. All those are economic issues on their face, but can be turned into cultural issues through class consciousness. Republicans have been masterful making immigration and the economics around immigration both an economic and cultural issue. Democrats should be attacking big business, CEOs, and the wealthy with as much vigor as Trump and Republicans have attacked immigrants over the last 15-20 years.
  3. I agree with this. However, I think Democrats need to demagogue back and create bogymen of their own. Right now, culture is king and Republicans have succeed on cultural issues because they have demagogued and made a villain out of immigrants. Republicans have made economics a cultural issue with evil, scary, brown-skinned, non-English speaking immigrants coming in and not only taking over your culture, but your job as well. Democrats need to do the same thing but with the ultra wealthy, corporate executives, and big business. In the same way Republicans have ginned up hate and animosity towards immigrant communities, Democrats should be doing it on a class basses. Democrats need to show people that the real villains, out to destroy your way of life, are wealthy people like Musk and Bezos and the big corporations they operate. They need to show people that greed is bad and these people are trying to control more and more of the wealth. Democrats need to gin up disdain and class warfare against the rich. This is something I think, to a point, people like Bernie Sanders and AOC understand. It's not something that will happen overnight either. But if there is a 5-10-15-20 year sustained attack, with a media apparatus backing it up, on the rich and wealthy, things will begin to change. Right now, people think they too can get rich one day and be an Elon Musk or a Jeff Bezos. Democrats need to make economics a cultural issue too, but a culture based on class identity, not racial identity.
  4. Trump is only running again specifically to avoid the justice system. He knows he needs to win to avoid prosecution and jail time.
  5. What an absolute steal of a deal by Stevie Yzerman. It's nice to have a competent GM, who can manage the cap space he has reasonably well (Copp's contract not withstanding). Really anything under $8.5 was a win and this is a big win for us financially it seems.
  6. This is the guy that knows nothing about Project 2025. Just slap "I'm Kamala Harris and I approve this message" and I think you have your next ad.
  7. They did it twice at the end of the game which was especially egregious because had they been tackled short the game would be over. He need to work LaPorta in to getting open deeper down field and in the redzone and that just didn't happen. Maybe that was on LaPorta, maybe Tampa just had tight coverage, maybe it was on Johnson's play designs. Last week it was St. Brown and LaPorta who were ghosts and not targeted nearly enough. This week St. Brown has a better game but LaPorta is still a nonexistent part of this offense.
  8. You can't have 463 total yards on offense and only get one TD out of that. This redzone offense hasn't looked good through two games. This is where LaPorta, St.Brown, and Montgomery should be maximized and they are being wasted or not utilized instead. I don't know why Ben Johnson had a fetish today for having Goff both throw over the middle and repeatedly throw well short of the down marker. There were two plays, at the end of the game, where Goff had plays designed to and did throw over the middle. Had the WRs caught those two passes they would have Crowelled themselves by staying in bounds and letting the clock run out. I felt the constant throwing short over the middle seemed particularly excessive today, especially late in the game when it was critical they pick up firsts and/or stop the clock. Maybe I'm over exaggerating this pronlem though due to them losing it whatever.
  9. Two of those teams didn't have the best two QBs to ever play the game leading their team. Brady and Mahomes skew those stats.
  10. We can't say stuff like this imo, it isn't helpful to our cause or defeating Trump. If a don't like it when Republicans and MAGA peddle in fake news and conspiracies, we can't stoop to their level and do it unless we have real evidence. If there is concrete evidence this was staged then it's one thing to talk about it in those terms. However, without it, I don't think Dems should be trafficking or dipping our toes into unfounded theories.
  11. I agree. However, the FBI labeled it an assassination attempt and that's the headline people will grab onto.
  12. I don't know what kind of security there is at Trump's country club, but how do these secret service failings keep happening around Trump? How does someone yet again get a gun anywhere in shooting range of this guy?
  13. This is not what we need at all. ANOTHER attempted assassination attempt on Donald Trump. This is going to allow him to peddle this narrative that people want him killed and cause to incite more violence back from his supporters. Violence cannot beget violence and any attempt at it must be throughly and strongly condemned. This is going to put Harris and Walz in danger too, not just Trump.
  14. I thought Terrion Arnold again looked a bit like a lost rookie out there. It's only two games and he's a rookie, so it's not world's end by any means.
  15. Did Jack Campbell do anything of note today? He looks like a wasted first round pick thus far.
  16. I cannot fathom what was going through Todd Bowles head? We were gifted a chance and coaching failed this team.
  17. WOW. Horrific playcalling at the end. You either throw to the enzone or the sideline.
  18. That was coaching malpractice by Todd Bowles.
  19. All their plays were thrown well short of the first down marker. I don't get that at all.
  20. Goff with a horribly timed throw. What the hell was that? Who was that too?
  21. SEE WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU GO WITH MONTY!!!
  22. Once again a mobile QB caving up Aaron Glenn's defense.
  23. Terrion Arnold is guest starring in and filming an episode of Lost out there today.
  24. I've been saying this all game. He was a bruiser last week. He averaged 4.1 YPC.
  25. I don't get why they've gone away from Montgomery when he ran so strong last week and to close it out.
