  1. Stupid to downgrade to Schreve over 2m last year
  2. Mann is interesting; but it might be better to have Kriedler or Lipcius or Leonard who can all freely by moved up and down as needed. I'll continue my perfect record of being wrong and say Hudson Haskin.
  3. 11th pick has not been kind, with injuries wiping out Baugh (2001) and Drumright (1995) who both never made it, but still outperformed Veryzer (1971) and his -3.7 WAR. Maybin went 10th, and Gibson and Jung went 12th.
  4. now that Fedde has signed the rest of the dominos will quickly fall
  5. would have been nice to move up and get more $$$ to play with, oh well
  6. just saw it last night; well done; Scott Mitchell never mentioned by name, not sure what he's bitching about; no mention of Eric Andolsek, though they did discuss Utley and Brown's injuries. only complaints: they skimmed over the fact the Lions were not a good organization; obvi so much more to it than just that and they put in a weird conversation Fontes and Barry had recently on Ford Field sideline, where Fontes said Joe Montana wanted to come to Det and Wayne said they should go after Warren Moon, but management was not interested in either guy. Fontes is the most unreliable of any unreliable narrator, and surprised they put his BS in.
  7. Boo. Maybe sign a real MLB hitter instead? there is always that point in the season where you want to use that spot on a different player, but you cannot send down the Rule 5 guy. That hurts the club and in 2024 it should matter
  8. The law and order party tampers with evidence so they can get away with crimes - and this won't get more than 2 minutes of coverage.
  9. further this, Americans simply refuse to believe good economic news.
  10. this is why I $ for the Atlantic
  11. I am hoping the Tigers are illegible for the 2025 draft lottery
  12. Evan Woodbery @evanwoodbery Scott Harris: "We're going to keep looking to add pitching. You'll never hear me say that we have enough pitching. I don't even believe it's possible to have enough pitching. We're going to see what's available and if we can find more ways to make our staff deeper and better."
  13. you're probably right; and there's a decent chance that Vierling, Maton, McKinstry, Ibanez, Kriedler or any of the other guys at Toledo offer the same production as a Whit Merrifield or Ursula. but I will also argue that any one year guy would really not block anyone. there are some good options. Kyle Farmer bats RH and plays good D at three spots; surprised the Twins tendered him a contract; he would have been a good one year guy.
  14. 3/75M for Sonny Gray; Twins have lost 2 starters in free agency
  15. Shocked at the reasonable dollars; happy to be totally dead wrong about what he would cost; keep spending Scott!
  16. If that was his price the Twins would’ve already resigned him
  17. hope they make a serious offer
  18. this is incompetence on par with Matt Millen's Lions
  19. Nola re-signed with Philly after rejecting non-serious offers from Atl and LAD of 162 and 165M
  20. if I know a guy, let's call him Rasheed, and he wears a NYY hat, gets very excited when the NYY slaughter another team, cries when the NYY lose, despises the Red Sox, and agrees with every decision the NYY make, no matter how barbaric, can't I just assume he is a NYY fan, even if he never has the guts to publicly admit it?
  21. Pete Meijer says Biden's economic destruction of the country must be stopped, even if it means electing the Trump. He is still pissed Dems supported his wacko GQP opponent in the primary. My overarching goal is to make Joe Biden a one-term president. I think that economic damage that he has wrought and will continue to bring will have far more wide-reaching negative consequences on the country than a second non-consecutive Trump administration.
  22. lots of unnecessary drama avoided
  23. defense needs help; ignoring it at trade deadline looking even worse; Quinton Bohanna? who? offense will get them a lot more wins and maybe some playoff wins as well
  24. Gibbs, Montgomery, St Brown, and Williams all need more touches. Don’t forget about LaPorta either
  25. Inter webs are saying Nola’s 7/172 was a little light; the dollars are no big deal but the years are the key; 6-10 years is the length the top of the market will get; Harris will need to offer a lot of years to land an impact player
