  1. What Seattle has done in developing pitching is what the Tigers tried to do, but failed (so far).
  2. 100s of good tweets slamming CNN but this one is good
  3. this is probably too light, but a one year extension at 31M, makes it a 4/80M deal from 2024-27, through age 34 season 18, 16, 15, 31
  4. obviously it is not that easy; the Phillies were a deeply flawed 7th seed and then a month later, won 2 of the first 3 WS games. NYY have won 1 WS is the last 23 years because playoffs are a crapshoot. I think they need to do something - move him or extend him; but I get the feeling Harris won't do either anytime soon
  5. do you mean Wenceel Perez, who is only playing 2b now? Santana and Graham both stayed at Lakeland and are struggling. Even if you believe in the bat, Serretti does not have ML defensive skills. Workman's Ks are still really bad but no longer ridiculous. There is a steep step down from Baez to Maton/McKinstry/Short/Kreidler. Abel Batisdas has no at bats yet for Lakeland. Baez seems to be the best bet going forward; the money is not relevant IMO; the Tigers have less than 50% of the average payroll committed for 2024. And the FA position player pool is bad, not just at SS. Losing Baez and/or ERod means this team is moving in reverse. (God was Avila bad at his job.)
  6. CNN humiliates themselves
  7. I don't envy Harris having to figure out what to do with ERod.
  8. I want to apologize to Coach Tommy, as I thought he was just an idiot, after he stated the 3 branches of the federal government were the Senate, the House and the President. Turns out he is actually a genuinely bad person.
  9. MAGA is lost and gone. Will it motivate suburban women and independents to vote against him? God I certainly hope so.
  10. cannot believe AJ let Wentz face Ramirez, but it worked
  11. Lakeland has had a poor start team-wide, including Graham (bad) and Santana (yikes level bad)
  12. If Turnbull stays in minors for about 2 months, he would no longer be a free agent heading into 2025; instead Tigers would control him for a 4th arbitration year. Not saying Harris is manipulating service time, but it could break that way. edit: old news
  13. they've got rhythm!
  14. thrilled they jumped up to 3, but it looks like they will miss out on getting one of the 2 LSU guys, who are both having historically great seasons.
  15. Roberts wanted that fact that court's decisions aligned with GOP policies to appear to be happenstance; just a quirky coincidence. To keep up the farce, Roberts wanted to slow the rate of change, which is why he occasionally gave Dems some wins, like the upholding the ACA. Alito basically said f*** that noise, I'm too old, and there are 6 of us, so I don't care what you think, we are going to put as many policies in as we can, before someone stops us. Roberts is basically humiliated by all this, because the worst possible outcome for him - and the court - to be seen as a political body, which is now undeniable.
  16. they are going to STL this weekend, and the Cards are having a historically bad start. Their starting pitching is horrific. they could be another team that might be interested in a deal now for a SP, not later.
  17. Avila would hold onto Eduardo until the last second hoping for a huge overpay/another team's mistake. He is opting out for sure it seems and if so Tigers would get nothing. I do wonder how Harris handles this.
  18. hard to see how Martin was worth such a high pick or the draft capital it cost to move up; he only needs to be able to play 30(?) snaps a games as a reserve 2-down NT to be a successful, but we shall see if he can even do that he is older and huge, and if he really is an NFL player, would have expected him to dominate small school competition, which he clearly did not do. if they can coach him up, great, because cannot teach that size.
  19. Trump will never tire of lying, but others do, and even if they try to fact check LIVE, they will stop after the first 3-5 lies, leaving the next 20-30 lies unchecked lot more here So . . . he’s “unique” . . . but CNN will “treat him like any other” candidate. This seems to scream self-contradiction, and Chalian struggles to square the circle:
  20. This will be a train wreck and CNN won't care.
  21. Brad really makes his case eloquently. I think that it takes very little time to see if a guy can get it done in the NFL, either through immediate production or flashes of production, so either his guys can perform at a X round level, or they can't.
