4th round: HS 3b Rucker signs for a little over lot 775K (slot 627.9K)
5th round: College P Hamm signs for 397.5K (reported earlier at 400k) (slot 442.2k)
9th round: College senior P Minton signs for 162.5K (slot 182.5K) that's good for a senior
8 signed; 5 known; maybe they can sign everyone; though some of the HS might want to go to college.
Orange: Known; Blue: I just completely made up; Green: signed, but unknown; Yellow: HS unsigned
Holton is still a rookie; Tigers control him through 2028; looks to be a decent piece; I doubt a reliever with low Ks gets any significant return, but if some team is desperate for a LHR and wants to pay Harris a premium, then sure, trade him
need to take some action with Lorenzen; I assume he is open to staying; he will be 32 next year; is in great physical shape; with little mileage on his arm; last Winter, Elfin got 3/40 starting with his age 29 season; that neighborhood seems reasonable to me; Harris needs to move him if no extension
moving Baez is only important if they are pushing up against Ilitch's payroll max (whatever that is) and they aren't
as it stands, they may not have a $100M payroll next year, even with Baez
downgrading to Short to save some cash seems like a backwards move
not a big fan of Bowden ($), but mentions the usual suspects: Erod, Lorenzen, Foley, Lange, Baez

Many are predicting that which makes sense considering all that goes into successful SS play . Hands, arm, feet, technique, anticipation. But it shouldn’t take long to figure out if he can do it. Some guys get better. Greene was supposed to move to 1b according to some FWIW
thanks. did not realize they still had draft and follow for juco guys. looks like of the 7 from 2022, none signed and one was drafted in 2023. if I understand, if Cerkowycz goes to juco for another year, Tigers can sign him until a week before the 2024 draft for up to $225K, with no impact on 2022 draft pool.
don't recognize one name from today's picks, which means nothing.
no one knew who Skubal or Carpenter were. and Hill, White and Beiske were drafted in rounds that no longer exist.
have to trust they have id'ed some talent and they can develop it now
if you are taking HS players you better have the ability to develop them; decades of failure makes me nervous that they really can do it, but whole new team in place obviously
I think there are a lot of other pitchers like Lorenzen who will actually come to the Tigers to help them build value. Their recent track record is pretty good.
the timeline on HS position players - if they are really good - is not that different than college players. In fact, Greene beat JJ Bleday to the majors by a month.
Jung LH guy with power over hit who might be able stay at 2b
Anderson RH guy with hit over power who might be able to stay at 2b
I know I know. You don’t draft based on who is playing at West Michigan
in 2019, Marlins drafted JJ Bleday at 4 and Avila had to "settle" for Greene at 5. It is so hard to pass on a proven college performer for a HS player, but Marlins already moved on from JJ
