  1. Malloy seems pretty straight-forward - if he continues to hit, they will find a place for him in the line up Maurico or Vientos are high risk guys, with huge variance in outcomes. just looking now, and I see Kevin Parada went one pick before Jung. no way can he stick at catcher, but hit tool was awesome. at $12M McCann is probably being paid 3X what the open market would pay him. pissing away $50M+ on Miggy, McCan and Schoop does not inspire much excitement
  2. sounds like a calculated risk
  3. that $24M will actually cost the Mets $45.6M total ($22.8M per year). I know Cohen is loaded but that's a lot to pay for McCann! I would ask for a lot more than mid-level prospect; and offer the Mets something actually useful, like Foley or Faedo.
  4. Lorenzen signed; 40 man roster full, so Clemens, Short, Ibanez and Madris would be next on chopping block when another deal made
  5. Matt Carpenter to SD, 2 years, 2nd year a player option; guy secured a contract for his age 38 season! let's see how well he does outside Yankee Stadium; 12M total, 6M each year
  6. Jordan Lyles, 2/17; that's not smart
  7. the delta is $8M (he took the $5M already), and 2/16 seems like the floor for him
  8. even when he struggled last year, he hit LHP really well, something he seems to always do. played all 3 OF positions too. he took his $5M buyout, instead of exercising $13M option. looks like that was a smart move.
  9. those who were annoyed at the possibility of Drury need not worry, either
  10. those who were annoyed at the possibility of Lugo need not worry
  11. Nick Madrigal might be interesting guy to trade for; zero power, but great bat to ball skills; hurt his hammy real bad, so that will impact speed
  12. only impact player remaining is Swanson and last pitcher is Evoladi, both with QO. maybe soon those teams that missed out, or sat out due to price, will look to trade market Manning, ERod, Lange, Soto, and some other young arms have some value. Malloy seems to actually fit what Harris claims he wants
  13. value, but not a good fit; looks like he sacrificed hit over power; just 5 HRs this year; real nice OBP with KC, 387; but rather see if Carpenter or maybe Baddoo can equal the 109 OPS+ that AB has averaged in his career
  14. Sox needed LH bats
  15. part of the FTC consent decree was to allow two factor authentication without providing phone number; that sucks for Twitter because they cannot sell info without cell number; so I assume Elmo is trying to figure out a way get around that; he already is forcing people to share personal info (also part of consent decree) so they can send targeted (more expensive) ads; with no way of opting out; he should be hearing from FTC soon, if not already
  16. Lynn's top 50; Top 5: Keith, Pacheco, Jobe, Jung, Meadows no idea who Reylin Perez (his #18) is (This year, Lynn only listed two players as HM who have already been released.)
  17. double insane. on a team that is trying to leverage young pitching? that is already overloaded with DHs?
  18. crossing their fingers on Schoop is enough wishing on one veteran 2b guy; they don't need two.
  19. yeah, this pushed NYM past $425M including tax NYY are "only" at $310M not sure what LAD and Bos are doing, but Padres and Phils passed them as big spenders
  20. C Navarez to NYM for 8m w 7m player option; with Plays The Right Way still owed $24M that's $20M NYM are spending on C in 2023, when their best choice is rookie Alvarez Cohen: IDGAF
  21. Rodon to NYY 6/162
  22. good news for Tiger fans
  23. hit .191 and .197 in last 2 years at AAA (180 games); trending down for sure
