As someone who has followed his career since about HS Freshman year. Not sure he, but dont want to rule it out, he fits the Lions mold. Is a nut case who doesn't work hard, has a mom dictating his life and kinda aloof
-
Silly to let the past failure of a third round pick (when 85 percent are failures) dictate your future
-
The problem is they pick 17 not 3. Can’t guarantee they get a decent one in the draft and even if you do they still need a vet for either the no 2 or 3 on depth chart. The haven’t done either and another option went off the board. Muhammad has his problem but so does everyone whether it be age, health or production. At least we knew what Muhammad could do. right now we have a big ole gaping whole and the position where Brad hasn’t added anyone, really, in years. That’s the frustration

He made nothing. If they wanted to roster him no reason to risk losing him today when you can just cut him in August. He is just a guy who has missed games every year, had 5 sacks total in three years. I think they cut him cause he couldn’t be counted on and time to try another body.

Probably like if you extend people it just kicks the can. No reason to add more problem down the road for money today if you don’t need the money today.

I'm against 30-year deals for running backs
-
Jesus way more than I thought. An older expensive running back. Good call 84
-
Yeah and what’s the difference between all those guys and Montgomery?
-
I’d be shocked if he gets more than a conditional. Plenty of free agent running backs that only cost money and veteran players always return less than fans expect.

Coach who specializes in the passing game

I work across the street from msg so I made sure to wear all my gear. Now if I would have worn it Thursday instead of Tuesday and not gotten the date of the game confused, it would have been an even bigger hit

How is Bonderman's change up looking?
-
By a very quick count looks like 6 out of 29 starts were under 5 innings. So he should be good for five or six, some knowledge and good memories. You could do a lot worse for a backend guy

If you have a bryce harper level talent you can create a bidding war among teams for his services. If he makes 10 million out of the gate, when he gets to pay years that will be the base. Versus starting at 500K
-
A bit of both. It doesn't behoove a sport to have unbalance where like Detroit and Pittsburgh sturggle for decades
-
Well he was selected by a committee, not the writers

A floor without a cap is terrible. Will just lead to bad contracts that hamper franchises or overpaying one young player and limiting free agency.

Love this McCarthy equals junk where as everyone loves garbage…despite their careers being identical -
Any massive extension is almost always done during spring training, wouldn't worry about timing. https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/9111981/justin-verlander-detroit-tigers-agrees-deal-which-worth-202-million-sources https://www.mlb.com/news/detroit-tigers-announce-eight-year-extension-for-miguel-cabrera-c70257040 https://www.mlb.com/news/vladimir-guerrero-jr-blue-jays-extension https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/30920472/14-years-340-million-make-fernando-tatis-jr-mega-extension-san-diego-padres

i think you're digging your head in the sand if you think they are non issues. They are the constant issues, and remain big, and any one let alone the wide gaps on multiple is why people fear a work stopage. Take salary cap for example, its been discussed. But now more owner want it because of crumbling RSN (something that didnt exist in the last few years) and they cant keep up with the Dodgers and Mets of the world. Paying players more sooner will also be a factor but owners will want to tie that to some sort of cap, which the players will hate. While they have bene tweeaked they are still major issues with wide gaps between the sides and major current and future financial factors at play. To think there is no large issue that should lead to an impasse is being obtuse and aware of the current labor situation.
