  1. and? To compare Trout had nearly double that
  2. I think they are mostly appealed because they are arbitrary. Like in baseball the suspension for beaning a guy is arbitrary, it is 3 games is it 5? Plus it allows the player to play. In this case the rule was written clearly and Williams violated the policy, he said he isn't appealing, my guess is because the union knows it won't go anywhere. Pick your battles kind of thing.
  3. Big difference though. Texas has no income tax. Not saying that was in the only reasons, but it is a benefit to just take the money there vs take the money in Detroit.
  4. Probably cause they agreed to it.
  5. I don't know why you keep hammering this Like any other workplaces there are rules. He broke em. Just like if I get plastered and take a crap on the floor of the hotel lobby in front of the entire conference, I'm getting in trouble too. It was a rule, he broke it. Simple as that. If it was any other team you guys wouldn't be bending over backward to explain it. Yeah the entire hotel is off limits, no we don't section off parts, the entire property. Really simple.
  6. It is cause you always do this. What if we do this outlandish thing. What if we try this guy at catcher what if we do X y z. Lets trade everybody, lets draft a guy with no legs. Whatever. Its always flavor of the month or the now need. Those are guys are all young let's just keep them on the same developmental plan and let them progress before throwing another wrench into their development. We might need a first baseman, we might not. In two years we might be desperate for a second baseman, we might not. One of the worst thing you can do in development os change the plan for a guy who won't be read for a few years because of a perceived need now. We don't know what the needs will be what if you move them and they get so focused on learning the position, the hitting development fall off? What if tork goes on a hot streak? What if no one wants to trade for them because they are now perceived first baseman? Etc etc your plan just creates more problems than it solves and the solution might not be needed or even work. its just tinkering to tinker like its a video game and forgetting these are real people invovled. I don't need to block anyone and I'm plenty of happy. Sorry cirticism of silly ideas hurts you so.
  7. You get a bit of luck with players coming out of their shell or magically becoming useful. I mean look at 2005 a lot of the same feelings but then kablamo 2006. I'm not saying they'll do it next year but some of the woe and this is gonna last for another decade or whatever is overblow.
  8. Neither are they Your desire to creating more problems as a fix to something that may not be a problem, knows no bounds.
  9. Might as well just give up on life....
  10. Jalen Carter is gonna play in the NBA?
  11. Stealing buddah line It's silly to promote a guy to calculus cause he's good at 4th grade math.
  12. Oh his name just screams injury
  13. He could have just OTE is not a path to an NBA job and doing nothing might be the better option. Like an WNBA might find trying to jump to the men's game too difficulty directly from the WNBA. So a year off to network/campaign is the better choice
  14. .708 OPS at AAA in 40 games. Maybe we shouldn't call him up.
  15. The play in Las Vegas. Thats why 5 of the 6 are at home. Broadcast teams like making the trip there.
  16. need better launch angle next time
  17. turns out our guy aint much better
  18. Im sure its part of it. But covid being over also plays a part. Lots more traveling and heading out now and many aren't realizing how much more they are compared to pre-pandemic
  19. Campbell will top that list in due time FTFY
  20. He didn't make an all rookie team Could he still grow into something, sure. Calling him talented seems like a stretch and he was no better than ivey this year. The love some pistons fans have for him is all paper and not what he actually is/has done.
