  1. I think the low hits are more dangerous tbh. I'm a Lions fan, I like Kerby, but I can also call it from an unbiased perspective and Kerby does have a little dirty in his game the way he hits. I also think that Stafford put Higbee in a tough spot on this particular throw so I think he should share some of the blame as well plus there was some bad luck involved with Higbee's leg planted into that awful turf.
  2. And if it took him out for a full calendar year Lions fans would be screaming bloody murder too.
  3. We would be too if their safety low hit LaPorta and tore his ACL. Kerby made a similar hit on Hockenson, he is a true kneecap biter.
  4. Yeah, I won't believe he's playing until I actually see him on the field. Seems like he's been "close" since...forever.
  5. I know Holmes doesn't draft for need generally but CB has to be a top priority with one of the first 2 picks. They have absolutely nothing there as a long term solution outside of Sutton who is only a stopgap really. It's arguably the 3rd most position behind QB and LT in a pass happy league, it needs to be addressed this offseason.
  6. Can't argue with that. Regardless, the Lions aren't losing to Tampa no way no how. I will stake my....poor reputation on it 😉
  7. This is pretty obvious by now, isn't it?
  8. The Lions aren't losing to Tampa at home, no way no how. I'll stake my reputation on this and guarantee a win this weekend.
  9. I was thinking the same. I think it's quite likely that the NFC North goes from one of the weakest this season to one of the strongest next season. Green Bay and Chicago will obviously look better on paper, the Vikings have a lot of talent and should have a better QB Cousins or not and the Lions should get even better on paper with cap space and a lot of picks again. Next year could be a bloodbath in this division.
  10. Meh, I think you're trying too hard to see the opposing view. First of all, that offsides penalty was as blatant as it gets, it also probably cost the Lions 7 points the way they were moving the ball in the second half and there was a hold missed on Hutchinson on that non-interference call late. REALLY helped is an exaggeration. Also, the low hit Kirby made is never called on receivers. QBs with the low hit have a different set of rules. They probably got away with one with the McNeil hit but I thought the calls were largely evened out over the course of the game.
  11. Punt was the right play. There was a ton of time left and that was a 4th and long (pretty much a Hail Mary), plus their defense was playing well. All their FGs were on 4th and long as well, all seemed like the right call. I actually thought the Lions played a little timid offensively in the second half. They were full throttle in the first half then sort of went conservative in the second half. The Rams had something to do with that though, their defense stepped up as did the Lions defense.
  12. Who cares about this trade, it's a nothing. The 2nds are nothing, the expiring contract players are nothing, Bagley's contract is something bad but his contract also wasn't preventing them from doing anything because all they have is cap space even with him so that's a nothing. It's a deck chair shuffling. The moral of this story is that they're loading up to add mediocre players being paid much more than mediocre money. Blake Griffin Part 2 is coming, you know, I know it, we all know it. Just prepare for the worst so you're not surprised when it actually happens. The question is, who will be the mediocre player? LaVine? Tobias? Anybody want to interject a player to throw on the giant pile of mediocre? Jerami Grant? That would be best case scenario and he's vastly overpaid although a good player. It ain't gonna be Siakam and even he's getting on the wrong side of his prime.
  13. Wow boys, that was something else. I gotta admit, I got a bit emotional when the kneel downs happened. Just so many years/decades of frustration, hopelessness etc. culminating in what happened tonight. The best thing is that this is just the beginning, it's a very young team that's ahead of schedule so there's a much higher ceiling than what we're seeing now. It's going to fun watching Philly-Tampa tomorrow night knowing that they will be coming to Detroit for the divisional round. Also, the fans chanting "Jared Goff" then him coming out on fire like he did and capping it off with that final pass to Amon-Ra has to feel amazing for him. Give that man his flowers, or in this case many millions this offseason.
  14. This shouldn't be surprising. Stafford returning to Detroit is THE biggest story of this matchup nationally.
  15. Yes, you should be but on the flip side your dedication is commendable. I refuse to watch one minute once Cade went down and I wasn't watching a lot even when Cade was healthy.
  16. I'll repeat what I've been saying all season.... Monty Williams is the worst thing to happen to the Pistons since the great Bill Davidson passed and that slimy car salesman looking snake Tom Gores bought the team. The team was bad the last few seasons but at least there was a team that worked hard, competed and had young players that were developing. What we're seeing this season is none of this, it's just a giant black hole of hopelessness and I stand firm on my stance that Monty Williams is a big part of that reason. It's a bad roster but there's no way that an NBA team should be THIS bad. They were a lot better last year, without Cade.
  17. It doesn't absolve McVay of blame for what he did to Goff but Goff's struggles is what paved the way for this trade and became a franchise changer for the Lions so I'm good with how it played out. If Goff continued to play the way he did earlier in the McVay tenure, the Lions would have likely been stuck with Teddy Two Gloves and that one high 1st rounder or whatever the proposed Denver trade was so... Thank You Sean for breaking Goff's confidence. In terms of the Rams, they won a Superbowl. That's an auto win for them no matter how it played out but it's largely irrelevant how the Rams did for this Lions fan.
  18. It's not foolish, it was a win win trade. The Rams and Lions both got what they wanted out of the trade, end of story. Rams for short term success and Lions for long term success.
  19. And that also includes the season which Goff had to endure a torn down roster and Anthony Lynn.
  20. Yes, he needs to be away from Monty Williams immediately. In fact, I would send any young player worth a damn to the G-League just to keep them away from the Monty Williams Black Hole of Suck until he's fired and if that takes a few years so be it. Just get them away from him before they're ruined forever.
  21. This isn't taking into account impact in the running game where Hutchinson is a MAJOR factor. Don't know about the other two but I have a hard time believing that many in the league or as impactful as Hutch against the run.
  22. St. Brown cared, a lot. He made a big point of saying how "hot" he was about not being selected, the man thrives on being overlooked. He's very much in that Michael Jordan mold of insane competitor that looks for any little reason to be extra motivated.
  23. Sure but I think most people will pick the Rams
