Week Nine: Minnesota Vikings (3-4) @ Detroit Lions (5-2)
NYLion replied to MichiganCardinal's topic in Detroit Lions
The Lions were far inferior today, butts kicked in every aspect. I'll stand by what I said earlier, they could miss the playoffs looking at that schedule and the current state of the team. -

The offensive line has been horrendous in the last 3 games. If the Lions don't get this sorted out they can miss the playoffs entirely with that schedule coming up -
Stew has to be the best league in the league the last season plus at blocking dunks at the rim. For a guy who's not that tall and not that athletic it sure is amazing that he can do that as often as he does, his timing is impeccable.

Well, a surprise in the sense that he signed a 3 year extension just last offseason. Hopefully he lets management know early in the offseason so they can plan accordingly if he does indeed decide to call it quits. I think drafting a tackle high should be a priority regardless of Decker's intentions like when they took Ratledge before knowing, to our knowledge, that Ragnow was retiring. -

It has to be a huge priority this offseason. I wouldn't be shocked if Decker had a surprise retirement announcement like Ragnow last offseason, injuries are really starting to pile up with him and he's starting to decline in quality. It's very tough to find quality tackles in free agency so it has to be addressed at the draft. -
The lack of shooting is a big concern, it'll be hard to compete for a Championship if that's your Core 3. Holland has the best chance to be a Robin to Cade's Batman but he has a ways to go yet. Regardless, this team gets after it and is a pain to play against. I just don't know if I see a ton of offensive upside with this group, it's a struggle in a lot of 4th quarters going back to last year to score.

He can play, he'd be a backup center on most teams.

10/22/25 8:00PM Pistons @ Bulls *Season Opener*

Yep that should be it. It'll have trouble scoring but establish a defensive identity and have Ivey leading the bench but that's highly unlikely to happen. -

Two idiotic shots on the last possession. They really missed Beasley and Schroder in this one, Robinson looks decrepit and I never liked the Levert signing. Ivey needs to take a step forward this season because Cade has virtually no scoring help. Well maybe Holland but it's too early to tell what he is -
Week Seven: Tampa Bay Buccaneers (5-1) @ Detroit Lions (4-2)

I was way wrong about the defense. I need to put more faith in the Dan Campbell culture to get the most out of anybody, they did the same last year against Minnesota with an even more depleted group. The offense still has a lot of work to do which is crazy to say but Jamo and Monty outside of the Baltimore game haven't been utliized nearly enough, I also feel like Teslaa should be getting more looks. Kind of scary for the rest of the league that the offense hasn't clicked yet, the defense is depleted, and the Lions are still 5-2. The schedule is extremely tough but if anybody can navigate it, it's Dan Campbell's Lions. -
That's the Weaver era for ya. Langdon has no attachment to these guys

Uhhh, that's not playcalling when Goff throws it right into the defenders hands and the kicker missing a FG. -

Should be up by way more than 11 to say the least. This reminds me of the Raiders Monday Night football game a few years back, hope it's a similar outcome. -

Who? I don't recall that player. There's a milk carton somewhere with Josh Pascal's name on it. As for tonight, it's hard to envision a win when you have guys off the street going against Evans, Egbuka etc. but we'll see. -
It's for the better to not extend either. Ivey might never be the same after multiple leg injuries plus the question marks in his game already and Duren's major flaws are very apparent. He improved a bit last season but a guy who does nothing but dunk better be top notch defensively to compensate and he's not even average. There is something to be said for the chemistry he and Cade have developed in the pick and roll with being a lob threat and he does seem to fit the culture they're building but you don't give out big money to guys who just dunk and are culture fits so it appears that Langdon played this smartly.

Ivey averaged almost 18ppg last season and scored efficiently, it's not such a leap to think that he can boost that scoring to 20ppg. I'm not a big fan of the fit with Ivey alongside Cade but the 20ppg scorer could be right there in house, the defense is another story but the Pistons have plenty of guys that can defend to offset that deficiency.

Week Six: Detroit Lions (4-1) @ Kansas City Chiefs (2-3)
NYLion replied to MichiganCardinal's topic in Detroit Lions
The Baltimore win doesn't look as good only because Lamar got injured, that's still a SB contender with a healthy Lamar but, yes, they got their butts kicked by Green Bay and Kansas City in uncharacteristic Dan Campbell Lions fashion. -
Week Six: Detroit Lions (4-1) @ Kansas City Chiefs (2-3)
NYLion replied to MichiganCardinal's topic in Detroit Lions
This game is going as expected, I had this down as a loss. The Lions are too banged up and there's just no way the Chiefs were going 2-4. The concerning thing to me is that the Lions got whipped up front by Green Bay and Kansas City, this is not something that would happen to Lions teams of the last two years multiple times. Schedule is relentless so they're going to have to bring a better game than this to navigate it going forward. If they lose next week to Tampa homefield is pretty much a wrap with them being 3 games behind those guys, need to win that game. -

NYLion replied to MichiganCardinal's topic in Detroit Lions
Same here, it's a likely loss with all the injuries and the Chiefs desperation plus you know Goodell doesn't want his new Golden Boy going 2-4 so look for some ref intervention tonight. All the odds are stacked against the Lions -

They also play at the Rams, at Vikings and at the Bears in January when it will be cold. Home games aren't any picnic either. Tampa, Minnesota, Green Bay, Dallas and Pittsburgh. It's a hellacious schedule with injuries (like the one to Burrow) but they're good enough to overcome it, it's going to be a grind though. -
Week Five: Detroit Lions (3-1) @ Cincinnati Bengals (2-2)

What a ridiculous call against Anzalone, it's like the refs had a directive to gift a TD to the Bengals -
Week Four: Cleveland Browns (1-2) @ Detroit Lions (2-1)
NYLion replied to MichiganCardinal's topic in Detroit Lions
Well, the offense was pretty poor today. The Browns inept offense created a lot of short fields for the offense and the Kalif punt return TD made the score look like a good offensive performance when it wasn't but it's a positive when the Lions play their C Game and still win by 24 points. -

I've never seen a team name that represents the organization as much as Cleveland Browns. What a ****ty, stinky franchise. Just take this ugly W and run -

There's no way the Lions will be favored at Philly, highly unlikely at Kansas City, Washington and the Rams, probably not at Minnesota either. -
