  1. People at The Athletic actually talking about Hardaway and Beasley taking minutes from Ivey. I don't think people understand just how bad THJ was the last 3 months of the season. He was relegated to a backup role because he was so bad. It is probably no coincidence once moved to the bench that Dallas played some of their best ball of the season. They had a 16 or 17 game win streak in that time. Although, adding Gafford and Washington were big reasons for that. The final 3 months Hardaway had a TS% of 47, 49, and 46. You usually want to see 55% from an average player. Beasley is a nice shooter but extremely one dimensional. After shooting he doesn't do much else. If Ivey is losing minutes to those guys then it is an even bigger mistake not to start the next rebuild right now.
  2. I read this and now can't remember if it was the Philippines or Puerto Rico. But one of them is testing out a 4 point shot. They will try it out during one of their in season tournaments. The line will be 27 feet. The NBA 3PT line is 22 feet in the corners and 23'9" above the break.
  3. Uhhhh
  4. I don't even know what "lazy comparison" means. Since he was drafted I have been going back to watch Ignite games. Probably watched 8 or 9 of his so far. He is not explosive by NBA standards and very much reminds me of SJ. Advertised as explosive coming into the league, but it doesn't translate to the NBA. Not a bad leaper but doesn't jump well when facing contact. Almost never dunks in traffic. Always a finger roll or a layup, which isn't terrible. But facing elite shock blockers in the NBA is going to be problematic for him. It isn't just the eye test either. His lane agility time at the combine? 11.10 seconds. Zack Edey? 11.19 seconds. 2.91 for the shuttle run while Edey was 3.01. Knecht who projects strictly as a spot up shooter had times of 10.56 and 2.79. In the NBA as a wing he will be very average athletically. I don't understand the Ivey comp at all. First, Ivey does not have tunnel vision. Ivey had a decent assist rate when playing PG when Cade was hurt. Even last year playing off ball his assist rate was 20%. Pretty respectable. Ivey has a problem of playing too fast and then making dumb decisions. But he is definitely a willing passer.
  5. Every front office hire he makes is someone he previously worked with. Bit of a red flag. Not a chance everyone he previously worked with was the best candidate for these jobs.
  6. His kids and grandkids will never hear the end of this story. The day pops won summer league on national TV.
  7. Holland can't shoot, can't pass or won't. Not nearly as athletic as people think. Not explosive at all. Massively overrated on defense. If I gave that description to the police they would pick Johnson up in about 30 seconds.
  8. Rob Dillingham was the only top 10 pick to shoot >30% from three in summer league. He shot 31%.
  9. The Pistons did a really nice job building the summer team league to match the real team. Down 28 at the half.
  10. Woj said in a different Tweet that Boston is set to have a $225M payroll this year. On top of that they will also be facing a luxury tax bill of $210M. At least Boston has a title out of it. I believe I read that Phoenix will be over $500M in salary plus luxury tax penalties.
  11. Lando acted like a child and cost himself a shot at first place. If he gives that spot back with 10-12 laps to go he could have made a run at Piastri.
  12. Team USA holds on against a basketball powerhouse. They were down 14 at the half. Lebron hit a layup with 8 seconds to go to put them up 1. Not good.
  13. Ten three putts this morning. Thread title is an apt description of my game.
  14. I get Stanley Johnson vibes from Holland.
  15. And the cannons
  16. Better view
  17. This thing is awesome. I love Ballmer. He was upset the upper decks could never get a shirt from the T-Shirt cannons. So he had cannons installed on this scoreboard that can reach the back rows in the upper deck.
  18. Pippen Jr. is what you want from a 2nd year player in SL. 20 PPG 7.8 apg, 3 steals per game. Obviously only 4 games. But it will be a lot better than the 4 Sasser will play.
  19. If you can't win 32 games in year 5 of a rebuild then you need to start over. That means you have no core, not a lot of young talent, and not much hope. Trying to sign/trade for guys who are way past their prime to prop this thing up was a massive mistake.
  20. Because of the Crowdstrike screwup from this morning. EDIT: Maybe not.
  21. My early session prediction. Bad enough to not even sniff a playin game. But good enough to end up picking 9th and miss out on the talented top of the draft.
