  1. Or Troy Melton or Kevin McGonigle or Riley Greene. You are right; there is far more miss than hit on prospects and the jump from AAA to MLB is honestly enormous but to only focus on the fact that more miss rather than hit or maybe don't reach the potential that people thought they could even if they end up being an overall solid player seems silly but I am someone who enjoys tracking players from the minors to the majors and if you don't that's fine I guess I prefer to live on the optimistic side of things because if I were to live on the other side what would be the point of even watching the team.
  2. He is eligible because he didn't sign that until after he came up.
  3. I mean would you say they had the inverse luck of 24 this year? I mean by all metrics besides the one that really matters (W-L) they should have had a better record than they did and the amount of injuries was also not expected. I mean 35 IL trips for the team before August 1st is kinda crazy.
  4. There is some thump in that top 4
  5. Found our next inning eater
  6. Anyone who has it below a B is someone as the kids say don't know ball. Have there been missteps? Sure. Are there areas of improvement? Of course, but that does not negate going to the playoffs twice and being a single run from the ALCS last year, along with the clear growth of talent.
  7. I saw this tweet a couple of days ago. It really shows how far some dropped off.
  8. Honestly if Hope turns into Wilyer Abreu, that's a W.
  9. I just can't trust Boras on this. I find it very hard to believe Harris took that offer to him after giving Flaherty 20M and Valdez 30+M. Boras is going to paint himself and Skubal in the best light possible. Obviously Harris won't come out and dispute it because FO don't do that. I honestly think people will be happy we didn't extend Skubal here in 2-3 years because he has had TJ twice plus the other nano-surgery.
  10. I am expecting quite a bit of movement today with the influx of pitchers that are now going to be on the West Michigan staff. Speaking of that will be a pretty solid rotation; Jacobs, Mayfield, Smith, Elissalt, Christenson, plus a few others.
  11. @Edman85, do you have an idea of what the current payroll will look like pre-arb? We have a lot of money coming off the books so I was curious or if you know where I could find that online
  12. I mean, he didn't talk to Skubal, he talked to Boras who was going to take it to FA because that is who he is. Skubal is also big in the labor portion of things so he is of course going to push for the most because that's what the labor union would want.
  13. Obviously you realize that those situations are completely different but sure.
  14. I choose to agree with this one because it makes me feel better.
  15. Flukey is probably in there somewhere as well.
  16. Which we now have for 5+ years.
  17. Mayfield is a high floor low ceiling type. He should start in AA next season. Probably tops out at a #3 starter at his highest but is pretty reasonable to think he'll reach a #4 floor. I wonder if Mize's injury history limited his market a bit.
