  1. That's one thing I miss being in the office. I could just blurt out "Hey Terry, why did you send it to everyone when you thought it was my **** up but then just reply to me when it was yours?"
  2. I was a little worried about Aruba that it would be... too nice, if that makes sense. I wanted to feel "Somewhere else". We looked at other locations but places like the Bahamas didn't appeal to me, it's basically Florida and I expected it to be overrun with families and that's not what we wanted. I also didn't want to go to a place like the Dominican where I'd be afraid to go anywhere off the resort. Already went to Jamaica. Mexico is not interesting to me. But Aruba was perfect. It didn't feel like it was a dirt poor place but also didn't feel like I was in Beverly Hills or even Clearwater or Orange Beach. It does have it's million dollar homes on the north end, which we drove through, but overall in our travels it looked like just normal people in small houses taking care of their property. You definitely felt like you were in a foreign country. We picked an adults only resort. The only negative thing we encountered was they let some people smoke cigars in the pool area and that bothered my wife. Didn't bother me. Everyone was very nice. The restaurants at the resort service just enough food that filled you up but didn't make you full to your stomach. We eat too much in the US. The portions were perfect. We made up for at the buffets though.
  3. Random Thoughts/observations from my 6 days in Aruba: What's the deal with Cologne being such a thing in Duty Free shops? In Aruba there are no traffic signals. Just roundabouts. It worked fine. It's not a big island and traffic wasn't bad anyway. No real big cities there. Customs going down was interesting and easy. You fill out a form online, get emailed a QR code. A lady asks us to scan our passport into a machine, it does its thing, then the gate lets you through, one by one. We picked up our luggage, make our way through some doors, walked past two guys in uniform sitting at and on a desk talking to each other, not really interested in us, we went through some doors expecting more lines.... and we're outside. That was it. Coming back was different. You check your bags with your airline, go through Aruba clearance and customs again, then enter a US thing where they check your boarding pass again, you pick up your luggage that you already gave the airline, then go through US Customs Process (They have a thing there which is great), put your luggage back on the proper conveyor for your airline, go through another TSA check, then you are free to board. I liked being able to clear US customs in Aruba because then landing in the US is like a domestic flight. We had a connection so otherwise we'd have had to get our luggage and clear customs, then check it again. I wonder how many other countries are like that, where the US has a CBP presence at the airport you depart from. Aruba's temps are consistently high 90 and low 75 but there's a constant 15-20 MPH wind which makes it awesome. Didn't feel hot at all. I would go back in a heart beat. We met a couple that's on their 26th consecutive annual trip there, outside of 2020. The resort we were at was their favorite so that was a comfort. We loved our place. Had 5 restaurants of different varieties and buffets for lunch and dinner options.
  4. I really am interested to know more. I know it's none of my business and I'm not expecting to know. Just curious. It could be something that triggers him just enough to not perform at the level required. Distractions. Thoughts going on in his head. What used to be called The Yips. Steve Sax, Knoblauch, Ankiel...
  5. This guy is going to melt.... fast.
  6. They are mad at Target and I just saw something about Chik Fil A as well. I hope more and more companies do this so that eventually they are stuck making their own clothes and growing their own food.
  7. We had a guy who would love to send me notes on a potential problem and copy a bunch of people. Then I point out the error, which was his, and then he'd reply just to me saying he fixed it. I would say "Why didn't you reply all on that note?"
  8. Daisy Duke, Wonder Woman, Victoria Principal on Dallas... we had it good as young lads back in the day.
  9. Just looked it up..... he's a Scientologist. Forget what I said. He was into it. I didn't realize he Bill Cosby'd them. I use that term because I just got back from Aruba. In the swim up pool bar they had tables to put your drink on. A guy left his drink there, came back, and when he asked me if that was his, I confirmed, then he said "You didn't Bill Cosby it, did you?" And it's funnier when a black guy says it.
  10. I don't think people like that go out with the intention of raping women. They just happen to be with one, they want something, and they will get it because they feel entitled to it because they are famous. They don't see what they did as rape. They see it as "She's with a star, she will love it. Nobody tells us no". But I don't know anything about that case or what the alleged circumstances were. I'm just making a general observation that I don't think famous people go into it expecting pushback or a fight. To them if there's no violence or fighting back then it's not rape. We all know that's not true.
  11. The hazy two hearted is good. I loved M43 when it first came out and I think I got burned out on it. Lately I have been going low cal and sticking with All Day or an equivalent. Once or twice a week I will splurge on a higher content. It’s helped me drop some pounds. After Easter I realized I was having too much. Sometimes 3-4 a day just out of habit as the days got warmer. Just got back from Aruba at an all inclusive so I loaded up on the tropical drinks and cocktails. Only had one local beer that was stocked in our fridge just to see if it was good. A Pilsner so nothing heavy.
  12. Public officials should not be making official decisions because of what their Bible or any other religious text tells them.
  13. I subscribed to the athletic longer than I should have. I got so frustrated because their app would frequently forget me and I had to login again. I could have it open and click a Twitter link and it would ask me to login. Little things like that bug me and if I am paying a fee then it should work.
  14. I remember visiting a white sox MB for awhile and when the scientists decided Pluto wasn’t a planet anymore someone posted on their general topic forum “Pluto: he gone”.
  15. Shades is sister Mary Elephant at our lady of 116th street.
  16. Going with my wife to see Pink this summer and my joke is she's going to see Pink and I'm going to see Brandi. But Pink's alright and I'm sure the show will be phenominal but Brandi is my girlfriend even if I'm not her preference.
  17. No. I have a local deli that's been around for at least 35 years and every Tuesday I get a chicken caeser wrap. I'm sure it's nothing special but he loads it up. The oil from the dressing starts to drip through the wrap onto my hand as i hold it. I look forward to it every week. Became a pandemic thing. I start to get sad when I'm almost finished with it. My wife gets mad that I won't wait until Thursday when she's home but it's gotta be Tuesday. You go back to work on Monday, things might be a little busier but come Tuesday morning things settle down and I know at 11:20 it's time to order. I can do it online and it's ready when I get there. It's literally my favorite thing to eat and has been for 3 years. Nothing I will eat the rest of the week will top it.
  18. I don't consider any of this radical at all. Many people share the same thoughts. When you say people mock Christians I don't think you are the target.
  19. and may of those people who don't want to share don't grasp that even though they paid into social security and medicare they often get back much more than they put in. And that's a good thing.
  20. A government employee with a security clearance making business deals with China is a non story?
  21. It's also telling that the GOP never "got rid of it" when they could even though they said they would... Also, you described yourself as hard right. I wouldn't have guessed that. I detected right leanings but not something I'd call "hard right". I appreciate the discourse and if that's indeed true it's good to have that perspective intelligently represented here. Given what I know about you from here I get the sense you represent a significant portion of our electorate in terms of who wins and loses.
  22. I always thought the way the LGBTQ thing played out, especially gay marriage, was arranged. The legend is Biden says it publicly and backs Obama in a corner. I view that as a good cop/bad cop situation. Sort of like forcing someone else, with little risk since he's VP, to make the decision for him.
  23. This could be the updated 2009 season. Just get close.
  24. A few years ago we were told of a big snow coming and there was a news story about heart attacks so my wife strongly hinted we get one. I'm approaching 50 so I figured this would be the last one I ever buy. I got the last one at Lowe's, around $900. This was Dec 2021. I've used it three times and once was just to use it when I didn't really need to.
  25. This was a good win. It's still may and you need to stomp out losing streaks in order to prevent a spiral.
