  1. No surprise there.... if you seek out the most unpatriotic people in our country the vast majority of them will be Trump voters. They seek something else...
  2. I remember in the pregame intros before game 1 of the 2006 WS I asked my buddy “are we really going to win the WS with Neifi Perez at SS?” Remember they put Guillen at 1B
  3. I've only see the headlines but I'd be curious to know the effects on vaccinated vs unvaxxed people... or is it not even necessary for vaccinated if they get covid?
  4. I predict the unvaxxed would rather take horse pills and gargle with iodide.
  5. I'll be watching Newark on HBO Max. Can't find time to get to a theater and when we do we still have to see Shang Chi.
  6. It’s like every meme I’ve ever read rolled into one.
  7. I don’t think they look at your card. All that stuff is logged into the system. I looked on my chart and it’s there and I never told my doctor. If these people go to the hospital they won’t be considered vaccinated…
  8. so I can drop $3000 every August for the chance to maybe watch a WC game.
  9. I think that's what they call it in the UK... like 'mobile' (pronounced moh-bile) for your cell phone. And "car park".... and "queue".... no wonder we left.
  10. it's easier to get from 55-60 wins to 78 then it is to get from 77 to 90.
  11. I think it's simply that due to their player's association agreement with the players they cannot mandate that? Not all union agreements are created equal.
  12. 1/3 of cases in MI are under 18. A friend's dad just passed. He was fully vaxed, but you always have to give the disclaimer that he had 'comorbidities'. They don't know how he got it. Probably from one of the grandkids. Weird thing is his wife didn't test positive, she gave him mouth to mouth when she found him passed out. He was quarantining at home and collapsed. My wife thinks maybe she was asymptomatic before and gave it to him but it went through her system before a posotive could be detected.
  13. I’ve always thought that Tori Hunter in RF impacted Austin’s defense. The CF is supposed to be the captain in the OF but he either deferred to the vet too often or adjusted his play thinking he was with Tori from 4 years prior.
  14. @Tigeraholic1 posted this in the Sept 27th game thread but I think it's a worthy inclusion here:
  15. He just aint no carpenter
  16. is it a union thing? Tyler Bertuzzi is the only Red Wing not vaccinated and he's going to lose money since he won't be able to go to Canada.
  17. someone I trust very much who is involved in city gov't has talked with me about the mayor. He said "The guy would not fail a mental competency test". He wouldn't say more. I think the mayor either had a stroke or had stroke like symptoms from covid and cannot verbally express what he wants but mentally is there. A friend of mine is their neighbor and she told me she sees him every day get in his car and drive to work and if he wasn't mentally there then no way his wife would let him do that. It's a sensitive subject for sure. I'm voting for Gary. Abdullah is too young and when he constantly talks about "his team" I get worried.... I'm not voting for a team. If there's others then let us know who they are so we can vet them.
  18. I saw some stuff on the Tammy Faye movie and one thing that stood out is they were very out of touch with their contemporaries in their community when it game to gay issues and AIDS. Meaning..... they were supportive and loving.
  19. I remember Biergarten got hosed a few years ago when some moron who owned the building next door decided to knock it down and ruined their building. Of course, being Dearborn, the guy just did what he wanted with no permits or whatever.... I hope they leave that space empty. There's plenty of open buildings available for a new business. Not sure who owns it now.
  20. I used to go to Kenilworth around 1998-2001. Biertgarten was a lunchtime staple for me but haven’t been in a long time, probably 4 years. I know who the family is but don’t know them personally. I remember the dog at Kenilworth. When I talked earlier about the Aussie that gang would meet up at Kenilworth. Not sure how they did it but somehow all the aussies in the area found each other. One memorable night they got kicked out of Kiernan’s. I miss those places. Howell’s. Double Olive. The very first thing I bought with my first paycheck out of college was a Martini at the double olive.
  21. States don’t get to decide how they send their reps? I honestly don’t know. I thought it was up to them.
  22. I'll put this here instead of the TV thread since it's music.... I watched "If I leave here tomorrow", doc on Skynyrd is on Netflix now. I think it's been around before. Not the biggest fan of them even though I love the Allmans, too rednecky for me, but it was enjoyable and watchable. There's a brief clip of a young black artist, that I have now begun to look into, playing a few seconds of Simple Man and it made me appreciate Ronnie Van Zant as a guitarist.... They do address the confederate flag angle. Anyway, if you want a break and have 90 minutes for some casual watching, give it a shot. Most of it's archival interviews as most of the original guys are dead, even outside of the plane crash. I hadn't realized that several of them passed since.
  23. Remember the “why must liberals always scream and jeer?”? I think of that often when I see the school board meetings
  24. That Nolte guy is a trip. I followed him on twitter back in the day and he was convinced, up until election day 2012, that Romney was going to win easily. Shortly after I dropped him, realizing he was an idiot.
