  2. Waiver traded were banned a few years ago. Only players not on the 40 man can be dealt.
  3. Whoops, Montalvo is Rule 5 eligible too... I didn't realize he was 19 on the June 5 before he was drafted out of HS.
  4. I've found Eno's numbers have helped me find some diamonds in the rough in fantasy. They aren't perfect, but it does give a glimpse at to one reason why Kikuchi may have had more value than the general public thinks. The medical stuff that Rosenthal brought up is the Occam's razor though. Part of me wonders if that's why the Tigers wanted to trade him at all. We've been acting like the qualifying offer would have been a no-brainer, but what if he gets shut down next week with a lumbar injury. Do you offer that guy a $21M QO?
  5. All based on stuff metrics, pitch shape, etc. Anybody can recite baseball reference stats.
  6. Kikuchi is ranked higher in Eno's pitching plus rankings as of a couple weeks ago, fwiw. https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5641710/2024/07/23/eno-sarris-mlb-starting-pitcher-rankings/
  7. One step ahead of you. Sweeney, Lee, Owens, and Hicks are all eligible for the Rule 5.
  8. Who the hell is Michael Greco and why did I do a status check on George and Cartaya after seeing that tweet on here?
  9. Any analysis of drafts, post 2012, that focuses only on pick position and neglects pool impact is incomplete.
  10. The glitch lately on here has been brutal.
  11. The people who mock free talent pickups on Twitter are the worst, and show they know nothing about baseball.

  13. And standard caution using any information from Torkmoil whose engagement farming ability far surpasses his attention to detail.
  14. BA has everything with the $2,500 bonus subtracted. MLB's website rounds everything in the 7 digits to the nearest 10K. I use BA.
  15. Note, I know Joe Sparma on account of my dad drilling the 1968 Tigers Baseball Encyclopedia page into my head several times as a kid. It was this guy I hadn't heard of. https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/s/scherfr01.shtml
  16. It was Howard. There was another guy I hadn't heard of on the 1973 team, but Howard played later. Joe Sparma was also an Ohio State guy.
  17. Trivia question I just put on Twitter I'll repeat here: Dillon Dingler will be the first Ohio State Buckeye to play for the Tigers since this player did so. Who is this player? Hint: he is somewhat famous.
  18. Rubio or Trump would need to claim residence in another state, lest the 12th Amendment make those 30 electoral votes go poof.
  19. So much of the opening ceremony isn't for me. No biggie. I wish others had that attitude. I was at a party last night with some friends, some of whom I've grown apart from the last few years due to their outward MAGAness getting in the way of things and my willingness to call people out for harming the public in 2020-21. Anyways, one had plenty to say when Palastine and Ukraine came across. "Give them more money! They don't have enough of our money" one said. It's one I've venting to @oblong about, and if you are facebook friends with me and saw the pic from the minor league hockey game earlier this year who decided to flip off the camera, because family values.
  20. Ironic because you can make the case Trump is one of the biggest socialist Presidents of recent times.
  21. #CJK5H #RememberTheFive #JDVFAC
  22. That is already the case between claiming dependents and child tax credits.
  23. I don't have kids, so I guess I don't get to vote. **** off, JD.
