I'd go so far to say the flowery types are even more of a niusance.

If somebody is calling for Hinch or Harris's head, that's likely an instant unfollow/mute/block for me. My timeline is much more clean these days. It's healthy to seek out opposing views sometimes, but the passive nature of social media scrolling means it is important to prune, IMO.

If you regress his career stats to 1000 PA vs LHP, it is a significant split.

I just double checked his minor league numbers, and I kinda want to push back on this. He was young for his level almost the whole way up, and has put up some pretty good numbers in the minors the last two years, particularly on the OBP side. It was defensive problems that hampered his prospect stock, particularly a case of the yips last year.

I do think it is a hot streak, but I have two reasons to have some optimism. 1. The Tigers, who have some way to measure swing mechanics and the like, are batting him high. That suggests they may not think it is a fluke. I am a bit more inclined to believe streaks like this early in the season. 2. He had a lot of injuries on the way up the farm. I need to refresh myself on the nature of the injuries, but that could take a dent out of his numbers if he was playing at 80% much of the time. Of course it also makes him more susceptible to future injury.

I'm fine with first or second. The difference between first and third is about one plate appearance every 4 or 5 games, or about 36 plate appearances over the course of a season. There's a reason "traditional" lineups went the way of the dodo bird as smart people took over.

The way Perez is being featured, I think Meadows gets the axe unless he heats up. Unless Urshela can fill in at short, you still need McKinstry around. It doesn't help that Leonard and Kreidler got hurt in Toledo to give us some shortstop depth.
