  1. A lot of CIA assets were compromised in that time period.
  2. 8 teams left, and Baltimore/Philadelphia/Minnesota are the only ones who would likely deal with cold weather that week. Texas/Arizona/Houston are all indoors. LA and Atlanta not in the cold.
  3. A few others who worked national MLB games this year that I don't think have full time gigs with a team. Not endorsements, just throwing names out: Rich Waltz Matt Vasgersian Kevin Kugler Siera Santos I'm a big fan of Mike Ferrin, but again, not sure he wants it. Looking at the Big Ten Network as a possible feeder, I mentioned Jason Ross, but Connor Onion is another. There are probably several minor league announcers who will put in beyond Gania and Hasty, from other orgs.
  4. I wonder if the Dbacks are regretting releasing their backup catcher right now.
  5. Also, you at least make Joe Davis say no.
  6. Is this based on anything? He just finished his first year with the Angels, but I know they have had announcer retention issues. This did get me poking around the Big Ten Network roster, and one name came up. Jason Ross Jr. is very young, a bit down the BTN depth chart, but was doing Lions preseason games this year and appears to have Detroit roots. Another name that came to mind was Kevin Brown if he wants to peace out of Baltimore after his suspension.
  7. List of players who signed as free agents in the 2022-23 offseason and put up at least 1.5 WAR in the first year of their deal. Their terms and how they entered the free agent market. No conclusions, just wanted to share. Also, don't feel like dealing with the formatting... 8. My rationale for Muncy is he has played a lot of 1B/2B/3B over his career, so you aren't necessarily blocking anybody unless both Jung and Keith bang down the door. He can go to where he is needed, and unlike some of the LH outfielders on the market, his platoon split is neutral and he is a decent fit in that regard. I do agree there is decline risk, but he's been a reliable 2-5 win player the last six years.
  9. Want me to throw out a name? If the Dodgers decline Max Muncy's option, sign me up.
  10. Probably me... I don't particularly care. I don't see why "well, name your own list of names from this awful crop of free agents" is a valid response to the fact that the ones listed are poor fits on the roster as it stands now.
  11. Zach Logue declared free agency. He was outrighted for the second time earlier this year, so he's eligible to do so and get a head start.
  12. I don't see any reason to non-tender or cut Baddoo. He's 25 and definitely has a role. He does make sense as a trade candidate, though.
  13. Also... GIVE HIM THE CHAIR! Never made sense as a strikeout call, but I'll use it here.
  14. Mike Ferrin filled in for a series with Dan and has play-by-play chops. No idea if he'd be interested.
  15. The only world I consider a Joc or Conforto type is one where Greene has a setback or Baddoo and/or Carpenter are traded. Otherwise, those guys just don't fit on a team with four incumbent left-handed hitting starting outfielders.
  16. Re: Bauer. What about the other three accusers?
  17. Okay, try on Nola and Bellinger. Hell no on the rest. Why are left handed corner outfield bats doing anything except blocking core players? If you are going to get an outfielder or two, somebody who complements the ones on the roster would be a better use of resources.
  18. Maybe, sure but probably won't come here, no, no, no, no.
  19. Bad knees aren't a result of poor conditioning?
  20. Yeah, if somebody needs a year to know what they have in today's information age, that's a problem. I could see the "well, let's see how players improve with different processes in place" line though.
  21. Here's the media guide entry for the new strength coach this year: And the new Performance Coach
  22. He dabbles in pseudoscience; I'd keep him away from there. The new staff seems to be doing pretty well in this regard after Harris cleaned that house. I could see him as a special assistant as somebody else mentioned. Maybe add him to the broadcast mix.
  23. I was coming of age as Tram and Whitaker were on their last legs. I remember them as the greatest double play combo of all time, not the declined/injury bugged players they were in the early-mid 90's. Edit: heading to their BR page, Tram's decline was a lot more harsh than Whitaker...
  24. Big Supplement, I bet.
