  1. All the beat writers tripping overthemselves to retweet Paredes big night tonight (including Stavenhagen) all seemed to be on the same page with the FO as well.
  2. That would have required a different GM. I'm not kidding, I don't think he was getting the opportunity he needed here.
  3. Sure. Hence the Old Testament luck. But it's similar to the ERod thing where people are already calling him Jordan Zimmermann. It's kinda tiring and each of these guys, all under control for multiple years, will have opportunities to turn it around. As for Paredes, this org was never gonna give him the runway that he needed for better or worse. I'm glad that he landed somewhere where he's more valued.
  4. My real criticism of the focus on Paredes is that its now basically assumed that Meadows is toast. He has had a rough, almost Old Testament like start to the year in terms of luck. But I still think he is capable of holding up his end of the trade. Either way, I'm happy for Paredes. Good for him
  5. He would have been in AAA up until Candy got injured. And probably sent down shortly thereafter
  6. Probably helps that Brieske has pitched better than Faedo did yesterday too.
  7. Good for him... he'd probably have zero if he were with this ballclub
  8. Would it be too much to ask for a little run support for Bill Brasky?
  9. Man, these Sox hitters always wear out the Tigers lol
  10. Especially Michigan... they have built a very good program, but the B1G is not baseball country at all.
  11. Not surprised at all Also a sign that AJ opting out probably isn't a thing
  12. I don't know how much of why he fought the results were about finances more than they are just pathological. The guy hates losing.... if you would ask him point blank, he's never "lost" a thing in his life. So it's not at all surprising (especially with the benefit of hindsight) that he would go to great lengths, including putting public officials and normal people in harms way, to execute whatever plan he felt necessary to claim victory. I won't speculate on specifics, people do that a lot and it bothers me, but there's something seriously broken upstairs with Trump. Just not a good human being.
  13. At some level, it comes back go his age.... that's what separates him from Reyes/Cameron/Hill. He;s only 23 and has time to get it on track, and he has shown an ability to do it before. Aside from making consistent hard contact, the other concern is gonna be his ability against left handed pitching.... he'll need to improve to kinda breakthrough platoon status, one would think.
  14. I'm not sure they are the intended audience here.
  15. "Katherine.... I need ya to find me 538 more votes"
  16. Don't want to take anything away from Bowers or Raffensperger and their testimony because the threats against them aren't any more acceptable, but there's a particular terror in hearing their accounts because they are not public figures. These are normal everyday Americans who, if they weren't in Atlanta, could be anywhere. I don't know how you can't be empathetic about that or be uncaring, but nothing surprises me much anymore.
  17. Just devestating.... normal people have paid the price for all the lies.
  18. The common theme in all of the testimony today: the mob being sicced on people for doing their jobs.
  19. His ill daughter that he spoke of passed away shortly thereafter.... spent the last couple of months of her life having to bear witness to the deranged mob.
  20. The last part where Bowers went through the abuse that him and his office have received..... yikes
