This is all correct. Speculation is obviously going to happen in a situation like this. But again, despite whatever PR ramifications exist, fans and the media aren't necessarily entitled to learn anything about this. I mostly disagree with the attitude that we all deserve to learn more, but that's OK. This is a message board, and people are allowed to disagree with other people on message boards.

I am not surprised that people are interested nor do I really care that people are interested. I'm just expressing my POV, which is that, despite how fans (and some in the media) act, whether it's good from a PR perspective or not, fans and the media really aren't entitled to information about why Eduardo is on the restricted list right now. It's between the team and the player. That will not stop speculation from occurring, obviously. I suspect at some point we may learn more. But purely from a technical standpoint, we aren't the ones in a "need to know" basis here.

I can't speak for others, but Eduardo Rodriguez's absence has not affected my life in any measurable way.

Signing a catcher seems like a luxury at this point.... particularly when they probably need to focus more on getting another outfielder (or two) and a 3B

IMO, we need to see more than just 20 ABs to make a determination one way or another. Particularly when they arent consistent ABs

I would add that fellow sub .600 OPS guy Jeimer Candelario is currently not a regular despite there not being "better options"... not sure what makes Grossman otherwise special, other than theoretically having trade value

With Baddoo, is 20 ABs since his return (the equivalent of 5 games roughly) enough to make that justification? Personally, I dont care whether they are worse or not at this moment... theoretically, a guy like Baddoo factors into the future because he's controlled beyond this year and is only 23. Grossman is gone, one way or another, at years end.
