  1. IMO, Harris is going about rebuilding the Tigers the right way, building up the minor league talent level. He needs to stay the course. Don't trade prospects, good prospects, for rentals. However, when he has talented players, he needs to do everything he can to keep them. It's why I'm against trading away talented players like Skubal. Yes, he would probably get some blue chip prospects in return but we all saw what happens when established stars are traded for "can't miss" prospects. I don't totally blame Avila, he relied on scouts opinions and I would assume he was under orders to cut payroll. A fire sale usually doesn't work out for baseball teams. But when the talk turns to ERod, the blame falls squarely on Harris. He knew for months the contract had a no-trade clause. It should have been worked out with the player before even shopping him around. Harris has mostly been a fine GM and calling out his mistakes isn't a bad thing, just like calling out his good moves doesn't make him perfect. So far, his good moves outnumber his mistakes. Should Tiger fans be nervous about trade talks with Baltimore? After all, Nick Maton is in their system...🤣🤣
  2. This is his 2nd deadline chance. Remember his attempt to move ERod?
  3. I agree. And there's always the waiver wire.
  4. This thread almost over. Training camp starts this week!!! 😅😅
  5. Tigers had a chance to hit 2 in one inning. How about a player hitting both grand slams in one inning? Amazing...only guy to EVER do that?
  6. I don't agree. But it's just speculation on out part.
  7. The competition (or lack of) helps. Toronto sucks. But yeah, beat the teams you're supposed to. That's what the good team do.
  8. 40,000 fans gonna show Chris how bad Detroit wants a winner. After he counts all the $$ he makes, he'll loosen the purse strings and allow Harris to raise the payroll. Hey, a guy can dream, right?
  9. I was never good at math but extending that out for a whole season is...like...160 wins, right? 😅
  10. Vlad can be a FA at the end of next season. So it would be a partial rental. And Toronto will prolly ask WAY too much for him. Maybe inquire about him but I wouldn't give up any top prospect(s) for him.
  11. Dickerson with a promo for a "Harry Potter Night" at Comerica. I saw the same promo during the Yankee game at Yankee Stadium. MLB must buy a gross of hats for teams to pass out. I never saw the same promo by different teams.
  12. Who's pitching the 9th?
  13. Have the Tigers ever hit 2 grand slams in one inning?
  14. And Dan D. called in a grand slam home run. I've never seen a grand slam that wasn't a home run, Dan. Redundant.
  15. Grand Slam Home Run,
  16. I agree. As an incumbent, he was running unopposed. But that doesn't change the fact that everyone knew he was old as dirt and has a stutter. And I could care less what Stephen King or Geroge Clooney says about him. My peeve is the Democrat leaders who are so quick to dump him with no leading candidates to take his place. Gavin Newsome? Big Gretchen? Bernie? Harris? None of those choices inspire me. And my biggest worry is people staying home, like they did in 2016. Trump should never have won....
  17. Oh, I see it. I've also heard the talking heads talk about how bad Obama did in his first debate. Biden has a track record of coming back strong when he's down. Also has a very good 3 1/2 years of getting stuff done as a president. 4 months away from a possible defeat to Donald Trump is no time to change candidates. The entire country should be rallying behind Biden. But there's not even agreement on who should take his place. Harris? Can a woman, a black woman, beat Trump? That scares the living **** outta me, as it should most democrats.
  18. I had a neighbor who actually set his front yard on fire. Actual flames. He said his dad taught him the trick to make a healthy lawn. The next year or so, he had the greenest and thickest lawn on the block. Lol
  19. And I agree with you 100%. My big fear is that there's not enough of us that feel this way and the squabbling will allow Trump to steal another election, like he did in 2016. The democrats need to unite.
  20. I didn't start hearing any nominee changes until that horrible debate. People want to use that as their excuse. Joe is old and stutters. Everybody knew that, for years. But now they want to discard him like a used tissue? The nomination goes to Joe as long as he wants it. Just like millions of voters wanted when they voted for him in the primaries. These idiots are going to hand out country over to a corrupt felon.
  21. I don't agree. The Tigers won't be buyers because quality players that could help us this season would add too much to the payroll. Look no further than last off-season to see the players we signed. Or didn't sign...
  22. But that's not my point. Are we supposed to trust Harris' evaluations of prospects that are offered to us for Flaherty? Or even worse, Skubal? We've been down this road with many of the high quality players Avila basically gave away. Who left from the JV trade, Jake Rogers? Meanwhile, Verlander threw a no-hitter and won a Cy Young award? Yeah, gunshy trading stars for prospects.
  23. We all knew Joe is old and has a stutter. But he gets stuff done and works for all Americans. He also has a great administration. Not a corrupt one like Trump had. Most of Trump's ended up in prison. I'm really not sure this country could survive another Trump term.
  24. I missed baseball. Sometimes I turn on the Yankee announcers just to hear them cry when the Yankees are losing. Oh, the joy!! 🤣🤣
