  1. Thanks for the reminder. Tigers are unwatchable when they play like this. Game 7 of a hockey playoff game may be exciting.
  2. He didn't put this guy into the game. Hinch pulling all the wrong strings. Olson gets the loss by giving up 1 earned run.
  3. I remember Leyland saying the more pitchers you throw out there, the bigger chance you have of one giving it up. This AAA guy is getting smoked, when he throws strikes. Getting behind every hitter isn't the road to success.
  4. Was Brieske on a pitch count? He only threw 22 pitches and retired every hitter.
  5. As long as Javy doesn't bat.
  6. He could still get the loss unless we tie it up or go ahead. One of the 2 runs was unearned. We're a Rogers brain fart away from a tie game.
  7. I had to look it up because i was wrong. But a passed ball isn't considered an error. On Saturday, there was a passed ball by Kelly with Chafin pitching. Then a base hit to score the runner. If the passed ball isn't an error, why was the run unearned? Carp!! HR!!
  8. Rogers with a bone headed throw. Olson hit by batted ball and pulled. I hope he's OK.
  9. Any time Witt makes an out, I'm surprised. That kid is really special.
  10. KC made some good contact in the first inning. HR to start their 2nd. Olson isn't fooling them very much, yet.
  11. Yes, he was really exciting. Kinda rushed to the big leagues though, he was really raw when he came up. Probably the biggest position player competitor I ever saw. The man wanted to hit with the game on the line.
  12. On paper, the Tigers should be able to hit Wacha tonight. But baseball may happen...
  13. He almost ruined Kirk Gibson by comparing him to Mickey Mantle.
  14. Lmao...he made the team because of good spring training stats...lmao "Pittaro had no expectations of getting promoted to “The Show” in 1985. “Honestly, I was prepared to go to Triple A,” he said. “When I got to camp I just wanted to open some eyes.” But when Pittaro hit well over .300 and displayed good instinctual glove work during spring training, Tigers manager Sparky Anderson raised eyebrows, gushing that Pittaro had “a chance to be the greatest second baseman who ever lived.”
  15. It must be rough all the back and forth from MLB to the minors and then back again. He's depth at this point, a #6 SP. We'll see what happens at the trade deadline, if he could pitch better, it may increase his value. I would hate to trade any SP but this Tiger team needs more offense, somewhere in the lineup.
  16. I hope he kicks it into another gear and starts hitting enough to help the team more. But he is a very one dimensional player...below average defense, not very fast and not a contact hitter. Hitting home runs is his game. A young Rob Deer. That's not an insult, it's a goal. But he's only had 1/2 of a season of consistent hitting, last season he hit 20 of him home runs after the All Star break. I look for more consistency. But...most home run hitter are pretty streaky.
  17. Very true and I hope the best for Jamo too. I wouldn't be against Holmes bringing in another receiver though. A veteran on a one year contract type of player. We have the money (I think) and adding depth would be a good thing.
  18. I don't care what his WHIP was for this game. He gave us 5 innings and left with the score tied. Yeah, it wasn't his best outing but I repeat, he kept us in the game.
  19. I agree he only kept us in the game because Arizona is struggling. But the bottom line is he put us in a position to win. He made pitches when he needed to. He definitely didn't have his best stuff but what's expected from a #6 starter? Oh well...
  20. I don't care if Arizona loves Tork, he's been very inconsistent so far in his career. Sorry if it hurts but it's just a fact.
  21. Phillies fans are loving themselves some Kody Clemens. Good for him!
  22. No. Absolutely not. He's a power hitter that occasionally runs into one. He'll be lucky to hit .250 with 25 home runs or so. Hoping to elevate his game into Rob Deer territory.
  23. Manning kept us in the game. I'm not being critical. And Arizona doesn't look like the same team that made it to the World Series last season. They look more like the WSox...lol
  24. Arizona isn't playing very good right now. Manning kept us in the game, decent for a #6 starter.
  25. Holton has turned into a good weapon outta the BP.
