I was just wondering how much they moved up in a weekend. Small sample sizes change very quickly. Their pitching was only 20th best? An early season good weekend prolly makes them better. Did Perez even get a hit? 😆😆

He may struggle at times this season, most hitters have cold stretches. Especially young players who aren't used to playing such a long season. Many times, they wear down. Keeping slumps as short as possible is key, don't be like Riley.

Having no hit stuff and actually getting a no hitter are totally different things. Having no hit stuff means you're a very good pitcher with really good stuff. Getting an actual no hitter takes a bit of luck. Tork catches that foul pop up and we're still anxious...but Skubal has no hit stuff.

Exactly this. I think Stevie has already had a couple/few extra years because of who he is. I admit, I was excited by his hiring, especially with his success in Tampa Bay. He did start out with a bare cupboard in Detroit and he had some bad draft luck but...enough is enough.
