  1. The Strategy Expert?? Didn't he say he had a secret formula that ranked players? And Dave Dombrowski was spying on him? Kinda scary...
  2. But other teams would also lose guys to free agency after the same 3 years. So yes, we could have lost several players but a huge pool of replacements would be available. At a huge cost, much more expensive, but out there to sign.
  3. Well, maybe not Skubal but many free agents, who were offered contract extensions, take a gamble that theyll stay injury free and that they will put up good numbers, increasing their worth. I'm surprised the Tigers didn’t at least try or offer Skubal a contract. Not that Boras would advise him to sign it but to let him know the risks of possibly losing millions of dollars.
  4. It will be a huge credit to them if/when Skubal makes it thru the '26 season, injury free and with good stats. They're really gambling so he can get that $400 million contract. I dont know if the Tigers offered him an extension or not but if so, they're risking it.
  5. This win is their season highlight. They were more hungry and the Pistons looked bored from the start. An ugly loss, very ugly. The Knicks are in trouble tomorrow.
  6. One of those games...in an 82 game season, even the better teams lay an egg. We can make it up tomorrow night against the Knicks...it's on Amazon Prime.
  7. Washington playing way, way over their heads.
  8. Washington has 99 points with 10 minutes left in the 4th quarter....Washington!!
  9. Its why we all have such high insurance rates...or one of the reasons.
  10. This is hard to watch. Just...no.
  11. The Pistons are playing stoned.
  12. I dont like the challenge rules either. It seems like when a team is out of challenges, all the closet calls go against them.
  13. It was a really quick comeback though. Down 22 points in the 2nd quarter to basically tied at half? They musta heard me screaming at them. 😅
  14. Turnovers and out of control drives to the basket...terrible basketball.
  15. The Tigers 2026 payroll is up to $228 million? Wow, that sounds like an awful lot.
  16. Agreed. Win enough so any losing streak is insignificant. Last season was a fluke, never to be repeated. But...watch out for the White Sox!
  17. In all seriousness, this Tiger pitching staff, starters and relievers, looks like it may carry us deep into the playoffs. I mean, we have to at least be division favorites, right? Especially if we keep Skubal. Let's Go!!
  18. Let's not turn on each other and just agree Scott Harris is destroying this once proud franchise, huh? 🤣🤣🤣
  19. To be honest, I'm happy Skubal won. A happy Skubal is more important than an deflated Skubal. If he's still here at least. And also...stick it to Chris. 😅
  20. A cap floor would protect against that. At least, in theory.
  21. Boras usually doesn't allow his clients to extend, he wants them to go into free agency. It would all depend on what Skubal wants. But if Takik tells Boras to get something done with Detroit, why would he even have Boras as an agent? And will the Tigers use of arbitration turn Skubal off enough to even refuse to listen to a Tigers offer? I really don't like money issues causing my favorite team to lose excellent players. The entire situation, no matter who's side we're on, sucks
  22. Owners, in just about every business, try to keep overhead down. That includes workers pay. The problem with sports is quality players can help a team be more successful, increasing their profits. Some owners don't realize that. You gotta spend money to make money. Losing Skubal may keep fans away in droves, as well as a huge decrease in TV viewership, which could cause advertising revenue to dry up. Skubal starts are usually must watch TV for even the most casual fans.
  23. I don't know what the TV revenue is going to look like for the Tigers and several other teams. Is losing FDS and going to a different TV source going to cost them big money? It could put a lot of teams in financial trouble. But, these guys are billionaires for a reason, they know to avoid losses.
  24. Is Valdez in the country? In past years, some players were late getting to ST because of visa issues. It would be easy to drag out his signing if he's in the DR. Makes me wonder if the Venezuela players are going to have issues getting their papers...
  25. Nice Lolich tribute;
