A team trying to manage their budget is going to hang onto their young, cost controlled pitchers. They may trade their old and expensive pitchers though, a typical salary dump. But that's not the Tigers MO.

I'm going on record as saying I really like the bullpen Harris is building. 3 guys with 20 save seasons last year? It shortens games to 6 inning games. Get a lead after 6 innings and we'll win a majority of the time. Maybe another starting pitcher for depth...but our lineup and position players are pretty much in place. It should be a fun summer...and again...Hurry Up, Spring Training.

Trade Mize? I get the idea but I just don't see it happening. Harris hasn't made many meaningful trades, so I dont see him moving what many consider a major starting Tiger pitcher. Maybe he'll surprise us but I just dont see it.

The Tigers acquired 4 pitchers right around the trade deadline. Rafael Montero, Charlie Morton, Kyle Finnegan, Chris Paddack. One of them did a good job (Finnegan) and was signed for 2026. 2 of then sucked and were released. And the other one is a free agent. There are a few prospects that our POBO is hanging his hat on to save any credibility in many fans eyes. He hasn't helped the Major League team with his trades or free agent signings. If these prospects don't pan out....well, I won't go there. These kids HAVE to make a big impact in the next couple of years.

There were a few years when Miggy would come to bat with guys on base and I would wonder why they were even pitching to him. More often than not (it seemed) he would knock in some of the runners. And many people underestimate how Cabrera will be remembered. I guarantee every time a player gets close to winning a triple crown, the baseball world will say Cabrera was the last player to do it. Just like Yaz was talked about during/after the Miggy triple crown season.

Who had games on streaming last season? Wasn't it Amazon Prime? Apple TV? I hope these NBC and Peacock games are on local NBC channels in the Detroit market.

Apparently, the article i read was incorrect. It's changed today to say the other players the Tigers settled with to avoid arbitration. It does list the money offered and the money asked for Skubal. I hope he wins or they settle before any hearings. There was a time when the Tigers players never made it to arbitration...years.

Not really. The Tigers still have 3 choices. Trade him, keep him thru 2026 and then let him walk, or extend him to a huge and long term contract. Skubal and Boras may make it 2 choices by not wanting an extension but I dont see that happening. Not if the Tigers meet his demands. My choice would be to extend him. If it's for 10 years and north of $400 million? It's not my money...
