  1. I didn't want JV back last year or this year. No thanks. If he isn't washed up, he's close. I don't even think he would be in the top 7 of our starting pitchers. But I have no say it what Detroit does. Boyd? I started wanting him in 2024 when he came back from injury with Cleveland. Can you imagine Skubsl and Boyd in our starting rotation? I say we would have won the division for sure along with the bye.
  2. The results on the field are all that matters. Not some random fans feelings...
  3. And just think, the same money that Cobb got could have gotten us Matthew Boyd. He signed for 2 years @30 million. An All Star. But go ahead, sign JV for 15 more million. SMH
  4. Whenever any of his players get here. I certainly didn't feel any confidence when the Harris pitchers were on the mound. Avila's guys got us to the playoffs.
  5. Flacco played on a short week, too. After a tough game against Green Bay. I'm kinda rooting for the old guy...😆
  6. He would have to sign somebody better than our top 5 options. With Jobe coming back, he won't want to sign anybody decent, even if they would sign for a short contract. Ok, maybe he'll sign a pitcher coming back from injury or somebody on a prove-it contract. Hopefully he learned his lesson with Cobb. And Maeda.
  7. Yeah, but some of those Tiger teams? Most games, it wasn't a question of if they would win, but how they would win. It seemed like JV may throw a no-hitter every time he took the mound.
  8. Pittsburgh proving that division games are tough in other divisions, too.. Cincinnati? Joe Freakin' Flacco?
  9. You're not kidding. I looked it up and there is a lot of speculation it will be the Dodgers. Or Yankees. $400 million or more.
  10. If Flaherty doesn't opt out, I could see Harris not signing a SP. Maybe a couple arms for the BP but you just never know how they will work out. BP arms are so unpredictable. I could see Harris using limited resources on a RH 3rd baseman....or a RH DH? Suarez? Maybe...
  11. Seeing Aaron Rodgers playing irritates me. I want him to lose. And I still say he won't make it thru the season.
  12. DD proved you can trade away every bit of minor league talent and still win big, if you have unlimited money to spend on payroll. And that will work for several years. But it will eventually catch up to a team and cause several years of fans suffering. I wouldn't trade those seasons, as a fan, even if it wasn't possible to continue the winning. Those years were, by far, the most successful seasons of my lifetime. And I'm old as dirt. 🤣🤣
  13. The problem may be not spending the money we would have given Skubal and letting every player walk after team control of them is over. Keep bringing up talented and much less expensive rookies to replace the experienced quality players. The Tampa way...
  14. I agree 100%. But....last season we were in desperate need of a quality edge rusher and all we got was a player on his last legs and ready to retire. The Lions will find a body from practice squads to fill in for a few weeks and live with the results.
  15. This is what legal gambling has done with football and other sports;
  16. This superstition tradition started 3 years ago? I never heard of it. Those fans look like idiots... https://www.mlb.com/news/mariners-fan-rally-shoe-wild-card-win
  17. You kids shouldn't be so negative. 😆
  18. As well he should. I just saw Toronto score a run with a dribbler to 1st base. Putting the ball in play has advantages.
  19. Road teams....wow. All 5 of the league championship games go to the road teams...
  20. Let's give Scott Harris a shopping list 🤣🤣
  21. Yeah, he'll get paid. But a possible 30% strikeouts rate? And upper body injuries? Hard pass...go after Bichette?
  22. The MCDC Lions teams haven't lost 2 in a row since 2022. That's an amazing stat that I don't think many of us have seen in our lifetimes.
  23. Suarez tied a career high with 49 home runs. He stated he wanted to come to Detroit. If the only deal we could have made was for Melton, I'm really glad Harris didn't do it. But...since Suarez is a free agent, you think Scott will offer him a contract? A lot of power but not a lot of contact. Close to 200 strikeouts last year and a high strikeout rate just about every season. It may not be a popular opinion, but I would pass on him.
