The flight to Florida from Detroit is what, 3 hours? We would be fine with any DH tomorrow. I would guess a straight DH, be done playing by 7 PM

Too bad today wasn't a day game. After an early afternoon storm, it's been clear for a couple/few hours. It's going to be really bad at gametime. At least, according to the WXYZ weather reports. We'll see...

He wasn't allowed to throw it in his first rehab start. He just got another injection. At least, according to Hinch and reports. "“He didn’t throw any changeups, and that was by design,” Tigers manager AJ Hinch said, according to an article from MLB.com."

He's only allowed to stay on a rehab assignment for so long. And Hinch says he only needs to build up his endurance before returning. IMO, it would be a mistake not allowing him to use one of his best pitches. Now I hear that while he's on his rehab assignment, he can't use his change up. That is one of his best pitches, he may do OK in AAA, but at the ML level? IDK.

And other former Tigers? Shelby Miller pitched the 9th inning for Arizona. He HAD a 1 run lead. He gave up 2 silo home runs to lose the game. We've seen that movie here in Detroit in 2024. A delay after it starts could ruin a Skubal start. Save Tarik for tomorrow and use a bullpen day. And if it's postponed, we could have a Skubal-Skenes match up in one of the games of a DH. That would be a hoot! 😆

And his attitude is very refreshing. CF? 2nd base? 3rd base? Shortstop? He'll play them all at a very high level. A perfect Hinch player.

Hinch showing a lot of trust in Chase Lee. Using him in the 7th inning of a 1 run game. That 2.01 ERA is pretty impressive. He's definitely gonna stick around all summer.

What do the Tigers have, 2 streaks of 3 losses all season? The opening Dodger disaster and then the Cleveland series? And after Skubal pitched his masterpiece, Cleveland fell off a cliff.

My dad grew up near Briggs Stadium and called it that until the day he passed in 2005. I heard the Roku stranger call Conerica, Tiger Stadium. Dan didn't correct him.

I watched the Yankees-Angels game last night. An extra inning game that was scoreless after 9 innings. The announcer said the Yankees were among the few teams, including the Tigers, that haven't lost 4 games in a row. The Yankees lost so it's one less team on that list. 😆
