I heard Alex Cobb is available for $15 million per year again this season.

He only wants white people?

The Democrats catching Secretary Noem in outright lies was glorious. Showing videos of her blatant lies was perfect. One senator even told her to resign or she was going to be impeached. The democrats will make America great again as soon as they retake power and start impeaching members of this corrupt administration.

You never know, he may be returned from Colorado, pitching there can be a....challenge. But yeah, he was the 1st player taken. He throws 97...

If Saleh wants to coach college, yes please.

Red Wings December 2025 Game Threads
Sports_Freak replied to lordstanley's topic in Detroit Red Wings
OK...they just said the Wings have won 3 straight in Calgary but before that they lost 6 straight. Those are the ones I remember. 😒 -
https://www.thescore.com/mlb/news/3422058 6 foot 8 inches and 300 pounds.

I would take it one step further. If Avila wouldn't have hired Hinch, the Tigers very well may not have made the playoffs the last 2 years. And Harris would be feeling a lot of heat from the media and fans. Most casual fans don't see the good he has done in rebuilding our barren farm system. They just see his lack of moves that could have helped our ML team. He has to put up or shut up this off-season, he has a playoff team that just needs a couple of pieces to seriously contend.

Red Wings December 2025 Game Threads

It seems like the Wings always struggle in Calgary. But they've been playing really good recently. -
Did the girl at the window ask "where's the beef?"
-
The Tigers last championship final needed part was acquired at the end of spring training. But yeah, needed pieces are added at the trade deadline, sometimes.
-
Or he could be more like JV and pitch into his 40's. We already know just how good he can be, he's not a prospect, he's an established star. We need him and a few more like him.
-
What? You didn't like letting Candelario walk and acquiring Nick Maton to anchor 3rd base? You're pretty hard to please....😆
-
Yeah, he's 44 years old but he has 10 kids!! All with one woman? E-gads, how does she walk? 9 months of being pregnant X 10 children? 90 months of being pregnant. 90 months = 7.5 years.

We've all seen "can't miss" prospects fail. Or get seriously injured. Skubal is an established star who has performed at an elite, All Star, Cy Young, level. Try to get him on an 8 year contract. Our payroll can handle it, especially with the "cant miss" prospects coming in under team control for several years.
-
Philip Rivers has signed with the Colts. He's 44 years old and has 10 children. He's also a grandfather. And he's 4 years older than the Colts head coach.

Week Fourteen: Dallas Cowboys (6-5-1) @ Detroit Lions (7-5)
Sports_Freak replied to MichiganCardinal's topic in Detroit Lions
America loves America's team.....and the Cowboys; -
Hopefully, Harris will sign the players he drafted to long term contracts. At least, the ones who become stars. Let all of these Avila picks walk, Al Avila destroyed this franchise anyway. 😆
-
Or a minor league team when their better players are moved up in an organization or traded. Its probably easier on those fans these days when it's possible to follow just about any team you want. Back in the day, you could only follow their progress in The Sporting News. But with the internet and streaming capabilities, a fan can follow any them/player they want. We're living in a golden day for sports viewing. 😁
-
Agreed. We can keep some of the better players but having 6 to 8 really high priced players probably won't be happening again. The Tigers are a mid-market team that has a payroll of a small market team. Very good for the bottom line but not so much for fans.
-
Its a very good business model. Replace experienced and very expensive players with young and talented players who make millions of dollars less and are under team control for several years. Tampa has been doing it for years, with pretty good results. Baseball salaries are an overhead in the business side of baseball and overhead in any business is a killer of profits.
-
Hoping for #2? Not this fan, I want the Tigers to sign him and continue his success here. As for faith in Harris trading him? I won't go there because there are posters here who will defend every Harris action, or lack of actions. There's another option, however unlikely...trading him at the trade deadline. I'm totally against that for 2 reasons...it would possibly send the wrong message to the team and fans. And the return would be much less than what it would be in the off-season. My guess is he'll be pitching for Detroit in 2026, Harris won't trade him. But....we'll see.
-
Skubal has Scott Boras as his agent. Boras in known for taking his players into free agency and getting as much money as possible. Yes, Skubal is the player and he <could> tell his agent where he wants to play, to get a Detroit deal done. But so far, we haven't heard of that happening. Agents are....lowlifes. At least, IMO.
-
That's one advantage Goff has. He may not be very mobile but he's really good at reading defenses.
-
And didn't they just extend Barkley? Running backs seem to really fall off a cliff sometimes. Dallas is going to take that division the next few seasons, all the picks they received in the Parsons trade should net them some good defensive players, if they're smart (they're not😆).
