  1. Boras played the biggest role. Detroit's offer was mostly leverage for him. Boston eventually ponied up. He is tearing it up with Boston and they have a ton of young talent. 3/120 with opt-outs is a good deal
  2. These pics are getting blown up and planted on my living room wall! Payback for 2013. Big Papi will suffer!!!
  3. Thayron has been in a deep slump. Good to see him connect on one. Hopefully a sign of a positive stretch coming up
  4. Since the White Sox don't deem with worthy of being on their 40, I doubt any team claims him. So Detroit will have the option of buying him back if they are interested.
  5. Is Larry Herndon still available to catch the final out?
  6. Somebody put the walk-off to moneyball. I love the catcher's reaction https://www.facebook.com/share/r/15zyVAzvhx/?mibextid=xfxF2i
  7. Fantastic game, best of the year so far!
  8. Steven Moya and Reynaldo Rivera - heart of the order for a decade! Add in Christian Stewart and they are contenders
  9. Gleyber is hitting .304 with .857 ops and 145 ops+. His D has been acceptable imho. Great pick up by Harris so far
  10. I think he has to clear waivers, and Detroit would have to decline to buy him back before Chicago can send him to a farm club. But my understanding of such things is on the level of Clifford the big red dog, so who knows.
  11. I think that's just SI speculating on the reason. I'm surprised the White Sox are dropping him from their 40. Wonder if Harris will offer a trade?
  12. His ball was very electric today. It's easy to see the elite stuff. But yeah, he needs work on command
  13. Wow, looks like Workman is getting dfa'd already by ChiSox https://www.si.com/mlb/cubs/news/former-cubs-infielder-gets-dfa-by-crosstown-rivals-after-foolish-comments
  14. Iirc when AA took over for DD, Burrows was Detroit's #1 prospect. Oh how times have changed
  15. Is Montero starting tomorrow?
  16. Minn has won 8 in a row, including just sweeping the Giants. If they stay healthy I expect them to be in the race.
  17. The AL Central is going to be a dog fight
  18. Old Hoss pitched in the 600 inning era. Over 2 seasons (1883-4) he started 141 games, completing 139. He went 108-37. In total he won 300+ games in 11 seasons. I also heard he was an excellent bowler and was the first riverdance phenom https://www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.fcgi?id=radbou001old
  19. As a kid I had a 1975 fleer all-time greats card of Old Hoss. Good name for a pet dog
  20. Vs Boston I want then to get back on the elephant and crush the Red Sox. Crush, crush, crush them.
  21. Both DeGrom yesterday and Evoldi today, they're pitching really well. And Texas bats have been overdue. Sucks, but not a tragedy for Detroit. Maybe they get to Texas bullpen yet today
  22. Speaking of Colorado, they are on pace for a 25-137 season, and after 39 games their run differential is -134. They might be worse than the 2024 White Sox
