    He has a special place in my memory. He pitched at my first Tigers game in 1972. He had a multi year window with electric stuff. I have a gazillion of his baseball cards because of that first game. Sad to hear of his passing.     Steve Stone tells Harry Caray stories about that. Caray would be going on and on about budweiser, while you could hear the catchers mitt pop pitch after pitch, with no commentary.

    In 42 career starts, Skenes' era is 1.95. I'd give up a lot for him, but not what Pitt would require. He'll be a FA entering his age 28 season. The thought of Skubal and Skenes compares to RJohnson and Schilling imho. Would be scary good.
