  1. I think that's a reasonable position. That's probably what Dan should've said, and left it at that.
  2. Dan needs to read up on the Bauer issue. During discovery they got texts from his accuser's phone that she sent to her friend explicitly laying out her plan to extort him. Videos of her next to him while he slept laughing about it. Bauer is a known world-class D-bag, and if that's a deal breaker, cool. But seeing Dan do MLB PR like this is really disappointing.
  3. I've just resigned myself to the fact that, unless they can get a guy on a 1 year deal, this is the likely outcome. And getting that type of guy on a 1 year deal is highly unlikely.
  4. I think you might be right about Jonah. The conventional wisdom is that someone is gonna back a Brinks truck up to his house, but I'm not so sure about that. Someone might give him that bag -- and all it takes is one team -- but his injury history might make teams wary about going big to get him.
  5. Yes! That's what I'm hoping for. I still think we need to upgrade via FA or trade, though, for the immediate future.
  6. It's not like the Raiders are the Panthers or the Pats. They have a decent defense and good weapons on offense. Give them a legit QB and they're a playoff team. Yes, the Raiders do dumb things, but not even they are dumb enough to move Crosby.
  7. I wonder if Telesco could swing a deal for Penei Sewell?
  8. Amon-Ra is likely to get $25m at a minimum, and Goff north of $45m.
  9. Talk yo' s**t. Brad was feisty today.
  10. I don't think Sutton was ever considered a No 1 CB, was he? I think Mosely was expected to be our No 1 with Sutton the No 2, where I think he'd have been fine.
  11. It started when AG and Campbell decided to dial up the blitzes, which left Sutton on an island with the top receivers in the league. It was what Campbell was referencing when he said "You have to give up something to get something," and it worked overall. Sutton was getting cooked on a weekly basis, but the team was getting to the QB more and giving up fewer points.
  12. Yes. Ben Johnson interviewed so poorly with WASH that the team made a point to fly out to DET to interview him a 2nd time. Sounds legit.
  13. I hope they get their most pressing needs in FA or via trade, because A) you can better project what you're gonna get wrt performance, and B) I don't think Holmes considers immediate needs as much as he does ability/character in the draft.
  14. Glenn has never had anywhere close to the talent that Ben Johnson has had. He's basically got half an NFL starting D-line, 2/3rds an LB corps, a number 2, a solid slot and a bunch of stop-gaps at CB. Safety is about the only position where he has anything close to a complete group. Considering haw few horses he's had, I think AG has done a pretty good job. I'd like to see what he can do with a better stable.
  15. He will go for BPA, and Lions fans will freak out if the BPA does not align with immediate needs. I prefer that he fill immediate needs through FA and trades, tbh.
  16. Cam's problem is that he's a no. 2 CB who was tasked with covering everyone's no. 1 receiver. The Lions need to acquire a legit no. 1 CB, and Cam will be fine. Adding to the D-line so they can get pressure with four will help the entire secondary.
  17. Brandon Perna is a Broncos fan who loves him some Detroit Lions.
  18. Maybe, but considering his injury history, maybe not. He'll definitely get decent money, but I'm not so sure he's getting the huge deal that so many others assume he's gonna get.
  19. I hope they can add legit interior and edge D-linemen, because that alone will help the CBs. Sutton isn't a number 1, though, so that also needs to be addressed. I expect Glasgow to be retained, but they need another Glasgow-type signing to hold the line in the offensive trenches. I wonder if Jonah will get the big deal from some other team that everyone assumes he's gonna get considering his injury history.
  20. If it's a four year deal, I think it'll be closer to $180m, but we're in the same ballpark. Will be interesting to see how much guaranteed he gets.
  21. He's gonna get around $200m give or take depending on whether it's four or five years. And he's earned it.
  22. Awesome season somewhat tarnished by a final horrid half of football to close it out. Still the single greatest season of Lions football of my life, and I'm old. Looking to next season, I think they must upgrade the CBs, D-line -- interior and edge -- and find reliable O-line depth, in that order. I don't expect huge splash FA signings, but I suspect they'll be active looking for value and/or depth. I wouldn't rule out a trade, either. Holmes will draft BPA, which will frustrate Lions fans if the BPA isn't a position of immediate need. I'm excited to see how everything fleshes out, not to mention for their new unis.
  23. You want Campbell to kick those FGs, then you want Campbell fired. Going for it like that is in large part how the Lions got to this point. You either accept those calls or demand he be fired.
