Yeah, I see that. It's the YES Yankee feed so theyll do Yankee interviews while the Tigers bat. But, oh well...

One super nice thing I noticed when streaming was that you were able to switch audio within the video player, so I had Dickerson and Petry. It wasn't, unfortunately, synced up... that audio was a second or so ahead of the video, but that was actually a happy little accident for me as I was working on something else while having the game up... so whenever they announced something interesting happening I could quick pay attention to the video to see it.

Normally the audio syncs up better. This was a thing I did often in the Shep days, using the radio feed.

OK...I'm confusrd. I have an MLB subscription and live in the Detroit market. Will I be able to watch the Tigers live with that app or do I need to pay for even more streaming services? This really is getting ridiculous.

Yes.  Basically what you are paying for now is to watch all baseball except the local team.  That would be true in any market. If you want to watch a local team you have to pay them either thru a cable/satellite provider or directly if the team has that service.

So you get it from being a season ticket holder?  With the Tigers we do. I assumed that was a league thing.

I get it because it comes free with my DirecTV Extra Innings subscription. Since DEI (get it?) isn't available until Opening Day, then neither is mlb.tv, for me, anyway.

The T-Mobile website says the free MLB offer is good for 2026 again. Need to sign up starting 3/24 -for a limited time. Not after the season starts.

It's only good for out of market games, If you live within your team's market area, its still gonna cost you. I'm not sure how it will affect games on ESPN if you don't subscribe to them.

So I have to pay another service...Peacock...Apple TV....Fanduel Sports (for Wings and Pistons) and now another streaming service. On top of Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu and YouTube TV. And MLB TV. The limit and patience has been reached. These billionaires keep figuring out ways to separate people from their money.

what it happening on MLB TV is individual team subscriptions for in market games that are separate from the out of market MLB TV package. Most the teams that have gone off Diamond already had their team subscription offers up, but the Tiger one only appeared very recently - maybe today. BUT, before you buy that for $189 for the year, the other half was that they are still trying to get the games on various cable services - TBD. So if you have a Comcast or DirectTV etc, subscription, I think you should hang tight and see if an announcement comes they will be on your system before that March 26 offer deadline to subscribe to MLB directly. 

For me, we get so little value out of Direct TV I'm thinking it's likely I'd go with the MLB offer and drop DirectTV for something a lot cheaper

Since we live out of market MLBTV works well for us. Since our cell service is thru T-Mobile it makes it an extra perk. We just don't get DC or Baltimore games. 

We fell the same way about our YouTube TV subscription, when you add in other streamers, it adds up to real money. Our TV is an LG and they have a "streaming" service that gives us a lot of interesting stuff

So where will the Pistons end up? No way will FanDuel stay afloat with only them. It looks like I'll sacrifice the Wings regular season games and just buy 6 months of this new streaming service. April thru September for the Tigers and then switch to where ever the Pistons end up. The Wings will be on national TV for the playoffs, I hope. And if they dont even make the playoffs (again), it won't even matter. Missing a season of bottom feeding hockey won't upset me.
