slothfacekilla Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago My guess is: Edvinsson - Seider Chiarot - Faulk Johansson - ASP JBD Quote

Seems to be having more success using his speed to avoid being hit, and when he's not on his butt, his skills are OK. Quote
buddha Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago nic roy and justin faulk and ancient john carlson going for first round picks +, imagine what trocheck or rob thomas would have cost. Quote

Mr.TaterSalad Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago (edited) I'm very pleased with this trade. We only gave up picks and kept all of our prospects intact. I was willing to trade Danielson for the right player, like a Robert Thomas. Glad we kept him in this deal though. Also glad to see Chiarot permanently move down a line and Faulk be on line one or Simon het the bump up to line one. Edited 12 hours ago by Mr.TaterSalad Quote
lordstanley Posted 12 hours ago Author Posted 12 hours ago Given the price others were paying and that the Wings’ main rivals did little, I think that a significant pickup in Faulk and a minor pickup in Perron is an acceptable trade deadline. 1 Quote
buddha Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago they still have their prospect powder dry too if they want to make a bigger move in the summer. Quote
Jason_R Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Early report was picks only. This shows Buchelnikov and Holl. I had hopes that we would see Buchelnikov come to the NHL and fill the net with pucks, but the trade market is the trade market. The blue line is stronger. Quote

slothfacekilla Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago I hate losing Buch, makes more sense there weren't more picks. In the end though, he's a very small guy and probably a long shot to make a ton of noise in the NHL. I always thought he was underrated in prospect lists though so I guess we'll see if I just like every Wing prospect. Quote
Mr.TaterSalad Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago It's a bit of a damper giving up Dmitiri Buchelnikov. I wanted a bigger move to be made and one was made, so I can't be too mad. Quote
lordstanley Posted 10 hours ago Author Posted 10 hours ago "Winners & Losers" often aren't known until a year later. Last year the Leafs traded a 1st and Nikita Grebenkin (22 y.o., 47 gp for Philly this season) for Scott Laughton. Today they traded away Laughton for a 3rd. Last year the Leafs traded Fraser Minten (21 y.o, 14G 15A in 61GP for Boston this season), a 1st and a 4th for Brandon Carlo. https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article/trade-deadline-winners-and-losers-we-all-benefit-from-non-stop-day-of-deals/ WINNERS Toronto Maple Leafs It went down to the wire, but the Leafs got their guys. Had the day ended with third-line centre Scott Laughton being the Buds’ big prize, it probably would have felt like a slight disappointment given everything else that went on directly around them in the division. But grabbing Brandon Carlo right before 3 p.m. ET made this a strong deadline for GM Brad Treliving. Laughton is under contract for another spring, Carlo is inked for another two and both come with lighter cap hits thanks to salary retention. Carlo, as a huge, right-shot blue-liner, should really help Toronto’s defencemen fill roles they’re best suited for. LOSERS Boston Bruins If you want to zag — and, pulling back in the curtain a bit, I almost did — and call the B’s winners, you laud them for picking a lane and hammering the accelerator. There was no hemming or hawing from GM Don Sweeney, who, to the surprise of many, ushered in a new phase of team-building in Boston by moving out some central-core pieces. Selling pending UFAs like Trent Frederic and Justin Brazeau is one thing, but moving your captain, Brad Marchand, is another, and dealing away important players with term left on their deals like Charlie Coyle and Brandon Carlo can only be interpreted as a major shift in approach for Boston. The team wasn’t going anywhere this year, but we didn’t enter deadline day prepared to do a real re-evaluation of what Boston’s next two or three seasons look like. Quote
Shinzaki Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Perron..based on his initial prognosis..is maybe a week away. I think he slots onto that 1st line (way better than Ras) with Larkin and Raymond. Should be a boost on the PP too Quote
Jason_R Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago OTOH I also saw a tweet that said he has been getting Seider-like minutes and usage, so maybe sliding in underneath Seider/Edvinsson will help. 1 Quote

slothfacekilla Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Well if Patrick Bacon's computer is telling us that the Wings got worse replacing JBD with Faulk then we are doomed! If my fancy stat bot told me that I'd just keep it to myself honestly. What a joke. I went to look at his account to see who he was and I see I have him blocked already lol. 1 Quote
