buddha Posted June 21 Posted June 21 Would you WANT that package for larkin? #9, yes. but the rest of those picks are either 4 years away or likely to be in the 20s. the wings want young players who can contribute with seider/raymond in their primes, i assume. Quote

I would not want that particular package as I want a top 3-5 pick for Larkin. While I want to tank and rebuild the rebuild, having a collection of picks in the mid to late 20s does nothing for me. I want high picks and/or top prospects. Quote
Jason_R Posted June 22 Posted June 22 At the very least I think it indicates a young established C with 1C potential, a 1st or equivalent prospect, and another piece is a reasonable expectation. But if Robertson could be had, what are we sending with Larkin? Quote
buddha Posted June 22 Posted June 22 mcmann re-signs in seattle. so that idea of incremental improvement is out. Quote

slothfacekilla Posted June 22 Posted June 22 I wouldn't have voted for Rinne myself that's for sure. Zetterberg remains a snub. Quote
Motor City Sonics Posted June 23 Posted June 23 Wow, the Oilers hired Mike Babcock? We'll see how long this lasts. I don't think his tactics are going to be tolerated now. Quote

I am elated this happened because this almost certainly guarantees McDavid and will want to leave and not re-sign with Edmonton. Not that I think we would be the team McDavid will want to come to, but it increases the chances he'll be on the open market. Quote
lordstanley Posted June 23 Author Posted June 23 If - or more likely when - this goes south, the Oilers can't say they weren't warned. 1 Quote
Shinzaki Posted June 23 Posted June 23 Doesn't Babcock dislike Americans? He's perfect to coach in Canada....he's Captain Canuck Quote

buddha Posted June 23 Posted June 23 kyrou goes for a mid first round pick, a middling player, and a middling prospect. Quote
slothfacekilla Posted June 23 Posted June 23 Really like what the Sharks are doing, they should walk away with Stenberg and one of the top D now... or use them as ammo for NHL guys. Quote
