When was “literally every person” that was deported defended in this thread?

If you're actually interested in finding the answer to your question, all you have to do is scroll back a bit and you'll find people freaking out because 8 convicted criminals were being deported to South Sudan because their home countries refused to take them.   Not my job to do your homework.

Yeah, how dare a county have immigration laws.  So stupid, what are we even thinking?

Start twisting the laws to fit what their agenda is and they will just keep pushing. Maybe the next law applies to someone you care about. Trump's DOJ treats Bryan Kohberger better than illegal immigrants.

There you go again.  Anybody that criticizes ICE in any way doesn't want immigration laws.

LOL.  Show me the deportations you actually didn't complain about?

You’re the one that said “literally every person”. Not me, or anyone else here.

When you start showing me that you're okay with at least some of these deportations, I'll think differently about your stance on open borders.

So as usual, you don't actually care about facts, you're just here to spew outrage and half truths.

I think it's OK to deport people, especially violent criminals after, due process.  I am against indiscriminate mass deportation.  I am against ICE raids of farms, stores, hospitals, etc just so they can reach some quota and pump up the MAGA base.  Of course, there needs to be immigration laws - laws which make it easier for productive immigrants to come here and stay here and laws to keep the bad ones out.  However, I am very sure that the current immigration policy is totally fueled by racism and fear and that is totally counterproductive.

I haven't even commented on all of the cases in this thread-and those represent a tiny minority of the people being deported.

And in general.... yes. The current situation is more than a little concerning. Whether you think the US should allow as much immigration as it has, or if you think those currently in the country without documentation need to be deported-they're all human beings and should be treated as such. And yes, I do think that many of those who are here, especially those brought here as children who don't even remember their country of birth, have the right to apply for asylum and/or the right to work here. Some of them won't and should not be approved-but my guess is that these aren't the ones being found in raids.

And of course your question leads me to ask you: is there any deportation that you think is unjust? How much power should ICE have-and is there ever going to be a line crossed that causes you to think it's too much?

Again, this is an all or nothing position that suggests that we must either support immigration laws as the Trump regime is implementing them, or we must support zero immigration laws at all. I don’t believe anybody else here supports either, because there is just so much in between them that we would rather see instead.

If you oppose this, you support open borders.

I hope any state that does this starts bleeding corporate headquarters and their employees, including Florida.

My guess is more companies will locate to these states to take advantage of the new cheap labor.
