romad1 Posted October 28 Posted October 28 The wife pointed out that we gave Libertarian leader Millei more in one go than the entire USAID budget. Pretty much encapsulated the situation. Welfare for the Oligarchs and ****all for the poor, the sick, the needy. That camel ain't getting through that needle eye. 4 Quote
antrat Posted October 28 Posted October 28 (edited) Under this idiocracy that we live in, expect to see more and more headlines like this. But their stock will boom and Kool- aid drinker and other old white dudes that live off of Fox News and Newsmax will scream that the Trump economy is great. Hell, they even fired the people that gave us the real numbers and replaced them with maga-holics. https://www.reuters.com/business/world-at-work/amazon-targets-many-30000-corporate-job-cuts-sources-say-2025-10-27/ Just imagine if Biden or Obama fired the people that kept track of unemployment and inflation numbers because they didn't like what those numbers said. They'd be spewing kool-aid all over the place at Fox. OH YEEEEAAAHH!!! Edited October 28 by antrat 1 Quote

Tigeraholic1 Posted October 28 Author Posted October 28 Amazon cut 22K in 2022 per the article. Where was the outrage then? Quote

Not sure who is outraged, but that public perception is going to be different for layoff announcements into an expanding labor market vs one that everyone fears is, or is about to be contracting. The shoe has now dropped at MS and AMA, cuts at META have been smaller so far but will probably get bigger. The big AI investors all find themselves cash poor in the short term. True, telling folks to learn code does not apply anymore. Skilled trade is the #1 demand job. Calluses hands are required though. Quote

Mr.TaterSalad Posted October 28 Posted October 28 Imagine loving Trump more than your own wife and your own family. I'm unmarried, but I can't imagine taking vows to a person and still supporting the person/s who arrested and detained them. Now imagine having children with that person and still loving Trump more than your own children and the mother of their children. This is exactly what they voted for though. Quote

oblong Posted October 28 Posted October 28 When you look at Whitewater... it's such small potatoes. Seriously. The scandal responsible for much of the drama in the 1990's.... go research it. It wouldn't even get noticed today. Every person who ever criticized Bill Clinton but supports the current guy is a hypocrite. Trump is Clinton on steroids, super soldier serum, and everything else. He's all of Clinton's flaws multiplied exponentially. 2 Quote

Every person who ever criticized Bill Clinton but supports the current guy is a hypocrite. Trump is Clinton on steroids, super soldier serum, and everything else. He's all of Clinton's flaws multiplied exponentially. While I think Trump is worse than Clinton, we can't simply gloss over Bubba's flaws. Whitewater to me is an issue, but certainly not the most glaring issue as it pertains to Clinton. Bubba overseeing the murder and state execution of a mentally disabled man was far worse than Whitewater. What he and the State of Arkansas did to a self-lobotomized, mentally disabled man in Ricky Ray Rector was a disgrace. He was in no way mentally competent or fit to stand trial, let alone be executed and put to death by the state. Another bigger issue than Whitewater is the 1996 DNC Chinagate campaign finance scandal. The fact that the DNC and Clinton campaign were closely tied with people from the Chinese government and then had to give back over $600,000 in illegal campaign finance contributions was awful. Now, I hate Trump as much as the next person. But if it was uncovered that the Trump campaign took illegal campaign funds from foreign governments, people here would be rightly pissed. It would be wrong now and it was wrong back when Al Gore was visiting a California temple of Buddhist monks and obtaining campaign donations from affiliates in the Chinese government. His pardon of Marc Rich is one of the all time, most disgraceful Presidential pardons. To pardon a con artist and a crook like Rich is equivalent to Ford pardoning Nixon. Rich should have spent his remaining years in jail for what he did and Clinton inexplicably wiped it out and no justice was ever served. There is also the fact that three different women accused Bubba of indecent exposure and/or sexual assault. Kathleen Willey, Juanita Broaddrick, and Paula Jones. Now Willey, I don't think I believe. Her story has changed too many times and one of her key witnesses to the alleged indecent exposure, quickly recanted her statement and I believe perjured herself as well under oath. Broaddrick and Jones am more likely to believe though. Edited October 28 by Mr.TaterSalad Quote
