Sweet gas prices

There is some really scary economic data coming out about the refineries having been shut down in the entire gulf region.  Couldn't possibly have been predicted by this government which was dragged into this war by the Israel lobby and fellow criminal Bibi.

and the other thing that Trump's real estate background has never taught him is that unlike property that just sits there waiting till a deal closes, the interconnected web of the world economy doesn't just start back up when the fighting stops. Oil fields, large industrial processes, supply chains all take time to start back up once damaged. Futures markets are already telling us that the expectation is that oll prices are not coming back down for months even if the fighting ends tomorrow.

I work in the packaged foods industry.  Year over year inflation for my specific location that produces shelf stable canned goods is 8.5% for materials in the bill of materials.

The sense of fellowship and organization is so positive.  So many people I talked to today were expressing inbetween raw emotion and coherent and long thought out discourses so many different ideas.  Keep it up!

Goldwater and Ike would not be republicans today. Nixon might have been what Lindsay Graham is. Definitely not the Bushes. Reagan is someone I am not sure on. I could argue both ways.  I wish I could have seen what William F Buckley would have w written

I think Goldwater could have been talked into it. Ike, maybe not so much. Definitely not the Bushes. I'm 50-50 on Reagan, too.

Have you shared your unique background with anyone? I would think they'd be very impressed that a staunch conservative (in the truest sense of the word) such as yourself would have abandoned the party over the fat orange bastard so quickly.

My favorite Goldwater quote

Quote

“Mark my word, if and when these preachers get control of the [Republican] party, and they're sure trying to do so, it's going to be a terrible damn problem. Frankly, these people frighten me. Politics and governing demand compromise. But these Christians believe they are acting in the name of God, so they can't and won't compromise. I know, I've tried to deal with them.”

Read up on his wiki page. I don’t think Goldwater would have went along.  He consistently spoke out against the religious right and in tne 80s and 90s said the party had been taken over by kooks.

I spoke to a woman for over an hour whose dad was an Air Force officer and she and i were fixated on how the system used to have rules.  You abided by them and you could have a career even if you were a Dominican Republic immigrant as her dad was.

Spoke to a buckeye fan and commiserated about the angst we had on the day of The Game and how we felt that way all the time now but in a bad way.

Spoke to a bunch of vets.

Had another long chat with a dude about Andor (see the Nemik quote poster above “Opression is the mask of fear”)
