I was worried they were going to give Poggi a one year interim deal or simply settle with hiring Brohm. Wittingham is a superior hire to Brohm and the kind of hire you make if you're serious about turning the culture around at Michigan.

I get thrown off by college teams that have teal as a color since that color wasn’t invented until the 1990s.  New Mexico has some teally looking shirts on today.  Coastal Carolina adorns itself in the hue.

What WRs worth a damn has Sherrone recruited and added to this team? Maybe Andrew Marsh develops into a legit #1 WR. Whether it was Sherrone or Whittingham, WR is one of this teams biggest needs and they were going to have to hit the portal for a good one in all likelihood. I think Whittingham and his staff should be reaching out to Marsh and working to get him in maize and blue next year.

i'm fine with reaching out to him and seeing what he thinks.  i wouldnt break the bank to bring him in.

i'm more concerned with losing andrew marsh than gaining nick marsh.  spend your money on the guy you already have.

We've got Larry Ellison money, spend big on both. Outside of WR and the need to develop Underwood, did Michigan have a bigger need this past season in-terms of players on the field.

well, in theory the NIL gravy train is supposed to be over. The school has ~$20M total to spread around the whole varsity program, and any NIL earned by players beyond has to be for actual services rendered. We'll see how much of a joke that does or doesn't turn out to be.

It’s Larry Ellison’s 6th wife’s money.   He’s 81 so maybe this is the last and final bag holder but odds say he wants something new before it stops working completely.    Michigan needs to take advantage as much as they can before the well runs dry.

Yes it is time to rethink it. They'll never do it, but the college football playoff games should emanate from home stadiums of the higher seeded teams. Only for the championship game should it be at a neutral site.

Not surprising. Tickets/transport to these games are generally too expensive to draw people without a deep rooting interest. When the old 'mythical National Championship' might still be in play at any of a half dozen traditional conference championship bowls that was great draw. With that gone, how many care enough to book a big trip for a tournament quarter final  football game? Interest in the secondary bowl games was never much anyway - they only exist to provide a telecast .  I guess people are hard up for football over the holidays, but with the NFL schedule running weeks later than it used to, that's also soaked up some the holiday football jones.

Too many bad football teams playing in way too many bowl games.Watching bad football is a real bore. Bad teams that have a few good players who opt out of even playing in these bowl games.
