Agreed! I don’t know how capable the new guy was of doing that, but the good ones would know what to say.

One other thing—a lot of fans think all the player has to do is say “the magic word” and he’s gone, the implication being that that word is “fūck”. That’s probably only partially true—it really depends on the context. Managers and players yell “that’s fūcking horseshīt, man” at umpires practically every game and get away with that. It’s when the manager or player directs it at the umpire, as in, “you’re a fūcking horseshīt umpire”, or even, “you suck at your job”, that he gets run out of the game.

That second catch, the way he slammed into that wall with his gloved wrist: isn't that how Junior broke his wrist?

That 2nd catch into the wall? That will end a career, in a hurry. There was a really good CF, I think for the WSox, who was always slamming into walls. The guy was always hurt.

Kenta Maeda is getting shelled in aaa. 5 games, 16 IP, 21 ER, 2.313 WHIP. Some of that is him making adjustments, but he is likely pitching his final professional games. Time to hang it up

He is still good, but is 32 and still has 5 years left on his contract.  So, it's probably not s good idea for the Tigers. The Giants will likely try to get Duran to play first.

Devers must be toxic as hell for the Sox to get rid of him for a bucket of prospects. For those that wonder why the Tiger's didn't try to trade probably a lot better package... he's sort of a jerk and no matter what his WAR and OPS+ is they don't want that on the team. Plus, the Giants are picking up the rest of his 313 million dollar contract.

The timing of trading Devers is hilarious for Boston fans.  They're having a great day after sweeping the Yankees and before they're done celebrating, Devers is gone for a sack of peanuts.

Tigers wouldn’t be interested in a guy who has no defensive versatility and isn’t a team player either.  Thats not our M.O. anymore thankfully.
