IdahoBert Posted October 28 Posted October 28 This is probably an unpopular opinion, but I don’t think 18 inning games are a good idea. I think the return on investment and the possibility of injury incurred is a transgression of Puritan economic thrift and modesty. For this transgression I will gladly stitch a scarlet “A” for “ass hat” made of fine red cloth, and surrounded with an elaborate embroidery of gold thread on to my somber, coarse gray 1968 block lettered Detroit Tiger road jersey to emphasize my bold and defiant nature. Grrr… Quote

Grrr… I'd prefer if the game goes past 12 innings, then you have a runner start at 2nd base starting inning 13, or something like that. I agree about potential injury. With the game today, that's basically 3 full games in 26-7 hours. Yamamoto was warming up and would have pitched had it gone to 19. And no need for scarlet A on your jersey. Consider an Earl Wilson patch instead. He doesn't get enough love 1 Quote
Tiger337 Posted October 28 Posted October 28 I went to bed after 9 innings. Did the Blue Jays announcer do a game re-cap? 1 2 Quote

oblong Posted October 28 Posted October 28 I get up at 5 so I feel like a bad fan for turning off the game.... I even hated leaving it when it was tied in the 8th... Quote
gehringer_2 Posted October 28 Posted October 28 (edited) Jay's batter swung and missed at ball four with the bases loaded in the 17th or 18th (? it's kind of a blur!). The door was open but they couldn't walk through. Edited October 28 by gehringer_2 1 Quote

Hongbit Posted October 28 Posted October 28 Schneider says the Jays plan on continuing to intentionally walk Ohtani the rest of the series. Should Dave Roberts take the base runner at the top of the order or does he move Ohtani back to 3 or 4 and hope create some very difficult situations for the Jays. Quote

The first game I ever attended was a 1963 Sunday doubleheader at Comiskey Park with my dad and a bunch of other kids and their dad‘s through the Elks Club and it was the White Sox versus the Yankees and Sunday Charlie - by then with the White Sox - hit a home run in each game. Neither Mantle nor Maris did anything I remember other than put on a show during batting practice and I would remember because they were pretty big deal then and I was paying pretty close attention. I don’t remember who won because I didn’t care because it wasn’t the Tigers. Quote

IdahoBert Posted October 28 Posted October 28 Did the stands begin to empty when it got into extras? I know Dodgers fans take a lot of heat for leaving before a game is over - or at least they used to - but the traffic is really bad so I cut them some slack for this. Quote

Went to a full count on Lukes and Luke swung at ball 4, but he didn't K, he grounded out 4-3. What I remembered was the walk was there - so same net outcome but not a K Edited October 28 by gehringer_2 Quote
