guy incognito Posted November 2 Posted November 2 Not Fox showing a one-second clip of Ernie Harwell interviewing Mickey Lolich in the locker room during their opening montage of Game 7s. Quote
IdahoBert Posted November 2 Posted November 2 At the opening, they do show all these World Series celebrations and there’s a grainy black-and-white of Freehan and Lolich embracing so that made me happy. And OMG Max is pitching. Quote
IdahoBert Posted November 2 Posted November 2 At least we got the tedious and unnecessary tension of Max pitching a no hitter out of the way quickly. Quote
chasfh Posted November 2 Posted November 2 As much as I no longer claim Verlander for Detroit, I claim Max even less. He is most definitely going into the Hall wearing the curly W. Quote
casimir Posted November 2 Posted November 2 Just now, chasfh said: Why did Springer just give up on the bases! 🤬 He thought it was ball four, which he shouldn’t have done. I’ll give him a slight exemption as he’s injured and looking to ease up where possible. He just read Guerrero’s body language rather than the umpire’s. Quote
IdahoBert Posted November 2 Posted November 2 If the Tigers were playing in this game, they wouldn’t have got thrown out trying to steal second base… Quote

He was sitting on a stool and handed a hat of each MLB team one at a time and offered commentary. He acknowledged the Tiger hat with mentioning how he evolved largely into what he became. Remember when he was optioned to Toledo early on for a few starts? I just wonder how things might have turned out without that little tune up. Maybe the same. Maybe not. Who knows? Quote

IdahoBert Posted November 2 Posted November 2 Bo Bichette homers (1) on a fly ball to center field. George Springer scores. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. scores. Quote
lordstanley Posted November 2 Posted November 2 Bichette blast. Ohtani done as a pitcher tonight. Quote

chasfh Posted November 2 Posted November 2 Now they have to go to the pen, a guy who threw 16 pitches yesterday. That’s how fragged that Dodgers bullpen is. You can’t say this game is over, but if Wroblewski can’t stop the bleeding here, it probably is over. Quote

Two things: (1) big leaguers don’t just give up on the bases; (2) it’s Game 7 of the World freaking Series. He has five months to heal. Quote
casimir Posted November 2 Posted November 2 Toronto was upset with the extra time granted to Ohtani to warm up after finishing the previous half innings on the basepaths. I tend to agree with them. 2 Quote
IdahoBert Posted November 2 Posted November 2 It’s strange for me to be rooting for Max, but I am right now. Go Max go! Quote
