Agreed. And we really needed 7 innings or so from him today. 3 games against the Cubs may tax our BP. But at least Skubal goes tomorrow.

This is the most lopsided 0-0 game ever.  Through 2 innings, Mize has thrown 64 pitches and the White Sox have left 6 runners on base.

Still, I think he comes back out for the third, because I still think they’d like to try to get five innings out of him somehow. But if he gives up a baserunner, especially on a walk or anything hard hit, he’s gotta come out.

A tidy 64 pitches to get through two innings. Now in the next two frames Mize just needs to hit the first two batters on the first pitch to the plate and get two triple plays, and he’ll be right about where he needs to be, 70 pitches in 4 innings

You know this is kind of inevitable. There’s a ton of data out there and we’re deep enough into the season and all sorts of scouting of the Tigers has occurred by now, and teams are figuring out what the Tigers are doing and how to respond to that.

The 13 run outburst of that first game right now feels like it happened 50 years ago and it’s a distant memory I’m talking about with my grandchildren.

That Wenceel baserunning mishap from the second inning is starting to loom really large.

-Sweeney is a longer term development case. They have to figure out if he's going to stabilize at a .650 OPS and can get bettter over the long term.

-Jake can't be this bad as a hitter and hold a roster spot.
