I'm bouncing between MCS and Edman's thought process here.  I definitely would have loved to add at least 1 lights out reliever, for whatever reason that didn't happen.  Harris definitely didn't stand pat though. 

Outside of Skubal, every position on this team is upgradable, yet there weren't that many clear upgrades that appeared to be on the block.  We have some depth, let's hope we get and stay healthy now.

A) I am OK with trading most prospect. 

B)Chas is right on this one. No reason to make a trade just to make one and lots go in it so just blaming one person with no details or anything is a bit unfair. Maybe another team hates our prospect, nothing you can do. Maybe the player begged not to play there and his old team helped, nothing you can do. 

C) no guarantee a trade makes you better. If we beat the Yankees and go to the ALCS, its not gonan matter.

I think we have seen enough evidence over the years that buying over-priced and usually over-the-hill FAs is sometimes not an avenue to winning seasons at all.

That's fair. I had hoped to get a solid back-of-the-pen guy as well as #3 or better rotation piece to go into the playoffs with, and I too am about fourteen minutes from being disappointed about not getting either of those.
