deshaun watson, but thanks for making my point for me and undercutting your original argument about the nfl.  trades of huge contracts happen in the nfl and the teams dont even have to accumulate the same amount of salary give or take 10% UNLESS theyve been an apron team for more than six months in january under a full moon.

Those deals happen quite a bit in the NBA.  But you can't use the dollar amount to compare when each league has a different salary cap.  A $40 million contract in the NFL is about 14% of the salary cap.  A guy like Schröder was just traded for like 12% of the salary cap and the Pistons took back zero salary.  Very different dollar amounts, but very similar salary cap percentages.

The NFL cap is hard, and getting under the cap is the reason for a lot of trades in the first place - there are no exemptions to keep your own players, so for those teams, taking salary back is the last thing they want to do as it defeats the objective of the trade. Also, since there are 6 rounds in an NFL draft and a decent GM will get good players out of 3,4 or even 5, you get more trades for just picks with no player (or salary) on the other side at all.

OK, they obviously wanted to announce it on their own day, which makes sense.

Funny how they report this deal could reach $287 million but reported Chet's as just $250 million.  They are identical contracts.  Both could reach $287 million, even if Chet seems less likely.

Multiple articles today about how Lebron is unhappy.

I would love if the new owner called a presser.  Then announced he isn't that concerned with how Lebron feels since this will be his last season playing with the Lakers.

Just looked at Cleveland.  They could do it for Garland and Ball plus draft picks.

lebron being a pouty bitch becsusr they wont sign a 40 year old to a huge multiyear extension.

its Luka's team now, lebron.

will he insist that his new team trade for bronny too?  or will he not want to do the lakers any favors on his way out the door?
